For the past several months, whenever I place an order on popular e-commerce platforms, I start receiving spam calls on the day of delivery. The calls typically feature an IVR system stating that my parcel couldn’t be delivered or has been returned, and they insist that I speak with a representative to make further inquiries about the matter. Despite this, my parcel always gets delivered on time without any issues. In a broader context, this appears to be a case of consumer data leakage, either by e-commerce giants, their delivery partners, or another party. This is a serious issue, as it could lead not only to cybercrimes but also to the erosion of customer trust in the brand. As per the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023, privacy is a fundamental right, and data fiduciaries must implement reasonable security safeguards to prevent data breaches. Failure to do so could result in a penalty of up to Rs. 250 crore. #ecommerce #data #privacy #ethicsintech

Protecting your e-commerce business from fraud isn't just about technology—it's about safeguarding the trust you've built with your customers. Start by integrating AI-driven tools that help you catch suspicious activities before they become serious issues. But don't stop there—make sure your payment processes are secure, and consider adding multi-factor authentication to give your customers peace of mind. It's also crucial to stay vigilant by regularly reviewing your transactions for anything out of the ordinary. But beyond the tech, take time to educate your customers on how they can protect themselves online. The more informed they are, the safer your business becomes. Remember, protecting your e-commerce platform is not just a technical necessity; it's about preserving the relationships that keep your business thriving. #ecommerce #protection #fraud #Innovativefolks #Innovativefolksdigital Chandan Varma Brijmohan Singh
