This groundbreaking innovation has demonstrated exceptional performance in CO2 capture, marking a significant leap forward in the field of carbon capture technologies. Conducted in collaboration with the EPFL Laboratory of Materials for Renewable Energy and funded by EPFL, Gaznat AG, the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF, the European Research Council (ERC), and the EPFL-Taiwan PhD Scholarship program, this research is set to transform industrial emissions management. The team is now focused on scaling production with a continuous roll-to-roll process. This reflects the interest received by our research, and we’re truly thankful to the scientific community for their continued support. 💡🔬 🌍 Our research focuses on producing green methanol (CH3OH) from CO2 and green hydrogen (H2), highlighting the potential of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in gas-phase reactions like CO2 hydrogenation. This reaction takes place in the temperature range (250–300°C) where MOFs still remain stable and how they can enhance catalytic efficiency by serving as active sites or supporting metal nanoparticles.
