Stay Safe with Crane Operations! ⚖️ Balance is Key: Ensure the crane’s balance is carefully checked before each lift. A well-balanced crane avoids tipping risks. 🎯 Center of Gravity: Align the load’s center of gravity directly under the hook to keep control stable and safe. 🧰 Proper Setup: Inspect hooks, slings, and rigging setup. A minor setup error can lead to big safety hazards. 📊 Weight Distribution: Confirm even weight distribution; avoid uneven loads that could lead to swinging or tipping. 🛠️ Regular Checks: Regularly inspect equipment and surroundings for hazards to ensure safety. #CraneSafety #LoadBalancing #ConstructionSafety #HeavyLifting #StaySafe

We can all agree that the loss of stability resulting in a tipping incident or accident shouldn’t be a common occurrence. They are costly and can be avoided. Remember the following key points: Make sure the operator is a qualified mobile crane operator with the education, knowledge and experience to operate the machine and make the lift. There are many crane designs, read the crane manufacturer’s operation manual to make certain the operator fully understands the operating quadrants, superstructure positions and operating characteristics of the crane. Make sure the operator fully understands the load capacity chart for the crane they are operating. Make sure the operator fully understands how to use the crane’s load weighing device (LMI, RCI, RCL, etc.). NEVER lift loads where the load chart does not provide ratings. NEVER lift more weight than what’s posted in the load chart. Outriggers are to be fully extended and set at all times when practical. Never allow the operator to “lift by the seat of their pants” if they can start to feel the crane tipping, then it is already too late, the crane has been overloaded. Wait ✋🛑 Before you overload a crane, consider looking into the safety factor of your machine! Though some parts of an overhead crane have built-in safety factors, this is not true of the entire crane system. For example, the crane may be attached to a building without those precautions. Be sure to triple-check these capabilities before overloading your crane! This can be the single most dangerous misconception about overhead cranes. A picture from a recent #Inspection of an Overhead Crane System by our #service team. During the #routine inspection of this overhead crane system, our #engineers discovered a wire rope with broken strands and bird caging. Using damaged ropes can be extremely #dangerous, risking load drops and serious #accidents. This overhead crane structure included: #Beam: The sturdy steel beam spanning the workspace, supporting the entire lifting system. #Hoist: The electric hoist lifts and lowers loads using a motor-driven drum and wire rope. #Push Trolleys: Manually operated trolleys that allow the hoist to move horizontally along the beam. Thanks to our service engineers Ciarán Clarke and Shane Horan who were able to fix this and get the customer back up and running within a few hours by: 1.#Replacing the damaged wire rope with a new, secure one. 2.#Reseting operational limits to ensure the system works perfectly. We’re #dedicated to providing prompt and professional service to ensure your lifting equipment is safe and efficient. Tandem Lifting and Blind Lifting: 1. Tandem Lift: Definition: A tandem lift involves using two or more cranes to lift a single load. The cranes work in coordination to share the weight and balance of the load. Purpose: This type of lift is necessary for heavy, long, or awkward loads that cannot be safely handled by a single crane. Complexity: Precise synchronization between the cranes is required, including coordinated movement, load distribution, and alignment. A clear lifting plan and constant communication between crane operators are essential. Risks: As multiple cranes are involved, any miscommunication or unsynchronized movement can result in load instability, equipment failure, or accidents. Careful planning and coordination are crucial to ensure safety. 2. Blind Lift: Definition: A blind lift occurs when the crane operator cannot see the load or the landing area directly and must rely on signals or instructions from a rigger or signaler. Purpose: Blind lifts are often required in situations where the load is out of the operator's line of sight, such as behind structures, in confined spaces, or in complex environments like construction sites. Complexity: The operator must rely entirely on external guidance from a signaler using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices. Accurate communication is critical for safe execution. Risks: The primary risk is communication breakdown, which can lead to improper load positioning, collisions, or dropped loads if signals are unclear or misunderstood. #BlindLift #RiggingSafety #SafeCraneOperations #TandemLift #HeavyLifting ARUN KAKKANAT HAMZA Akram

🚧 Crane Operation Alert! 🚧 When deploying a tire-mounted telescopic crane, it's imperative to conduct a meticulous site survey to ensure the ground's load-bearing capacity. Avoid setting up on unstable or loose soil to prevent sinking or overturning incidents. 🔍 Annual Inspections: Maintain compliance with safety standards by ensuring your crane undergoes rigorous annual inspections, complete with a valid test certificate, to guarantee its integrity and operational safety. 📜 Lifting Plan Essentials: Prior to any lift, a comprehensive lifting plan must be drafted, encompassing: Precise load weight Specification of slings and shackles Wire rope sling configuration Detailed lifting methodology Exact lift height 🔒 By adhering to these stringent protocols and formulating a well-defined lifting plan, we can significantly mitigate risks and prevent accidents #CraneSafety #LiftingOperations #ConstructionSafety #HeavyMachinery #SitePreparation
