Pop quiz: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. comes into your firm and your port cos and talks to everyone.
What does he discover?
I put his whole I Have a Dream speech here for three reasons.
1: I don’t think most people have watched the entire speech. 17:27…can you freely give the time?
2: If a black individual makes it through the gauntlet of “creative suffering,” they must then contend with how our society treats black excellence.
He was shot dead.
Compare that to the recent “scalping” comments our society embraces and tolerates…
We must never forget that terror, violence, and dehumanization are never far afield where black excellence shows up.
Yes, “unearned suffering is redemptive,” but its existence is deeply, deeply depraved. That is the reality every black person who wants to be excellent in this country must face.
We are faced with a terrifying and emboldening chasm: how much is my freedom of creative, excellent expression worth to me?
3: He beautifully weaves together the past, present, and future illuminating a disturbing truth: we STILL have a long way to go.
His 1963 speech was 100 years after the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation.
He talks about the distance still yet to travel.
And here we are, 61 years after his speech and there is still so much distance yet to travel.
How close are our workplaces to realizing his dream?
Would you trade places and pay with a black woman in your organization?
He talks about police brutality.
Would you trade places with a black man during a routine traffic stop?
He talks about voting.
Would you trade places with a black voter in Georgia?
We all know we don’t live in a just society.
It’s time for those of us committed to illuminating pathways to truly realize Dr. King’s dream to just go about the work of doing it, together. “We cannot walk alone.”
The time is now.
Dr. King said, “This is no time to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism.”
James Baldwin captures this sentiment: “You always told me it takes time. It has taken my father's time, my mother's time, my uncle's time, my brothers' and my sisters' time, my nieces' and my nephews' time. How much time do you want for your 'progress'?"
This generation can set humanity on a trajectory to finally evolve out of our racist past and present and ensure it’s not part of our future.
So as people use Dr. King’s words today to signal that they believe in the *concept* of equality and freedom for all, cash the check, check the receipts.
First, do you believe, somewhere deep down and untouchable, that his dream is worth proactively creating, defending, and lifting up?
Second, for those that casually celebrate his words—do their actions build toward Dr. King’s dream today, right now?
Every single one of us can do our part to evolve the places and spaces in our society that have not embraced the truth that all humans are created equal.
The time is now.

Hello, Quantom X (Chris Carson) here, head of Hyper Frost. Two of my all time favorite games are Sonic Riders and it's sequel, Zero Gravity. They are my favorite Sonic games ever, and my favorite racing games ever! So when it comes to Sonic characters, Jet is my favorite male character, and second to Rouge over all as my favorite. (and she's my favorite for... other reasons). Jet is just awesome and I love the character and design and his role in those games.
So I knew I had to try and get the part myself. I am the director and main editor of Hyper Frost so I'm pretty well going to do this role anyways in any future projects for Hyper Frost, Timeless Dubs, that this character comes up as well as trying for any other projects. However this also functions as my audition to try and voice Jet the Hawk in any future Void of Voices projects that the character may appear in. So this is my audition to play the voice of Jet the Hawk! Please let me know what you think, if I did good or not? I can't match Jason's voice for the character exactly, but I think I get pretty close with my own take on him and you can still tell it's Jet.
I edited my voice into existing scenes in the first Sonic Riders game.

Here's my portion of the Soundtrack for A Lark in the Park After Dark! I had so much fun trying to fuse electronic elements with an old school fairground organ, while also trying to give some feline feel to the tracks.
Overall, this may be my favorite work I've done yet!
