CES is chaos. There's no other way to describe it. 150 countries. 1400 startups. 4300 total exhibitors. 135,000 attendees. To get discovered in the chaos of it is one thing. But to get discovered AND to be applauded, amongst this vast pool of companies, was nothing short of a miracle. From the steady flow of attendees and tour groups to being honored with - not one - but two awards, our team was feeling the love for Lotus (Techstars'23)! But don’t take my word for it. Reverse Vending or deposit return schemes are not new but they are about to have their moment in the spotlight in a much bigger way. It's the smaller applications that we see the biggest growth over the next few years. Small return installations, giving much wider access to people to return their waste and get rewarded for doing so. The Newland solution is compact and is helping to drive designs and pricing that can we can see being used in Hotel lobbies, smaller shops, university halls of residence, school cafeterias, sports stadiums, theme parks even portable solutions taking up a weekend residency as part of the waste management at music festivals. It was an excellent networking event; we expect it to be even bigger next time! 🔶 First time setting up a podcast with industry experts in Cannes. 🚀 This years DIGIT Expo conference was an incredible conference that covered a wide range of topics from AI, FinOps, and Leadership! As expected, AI took center stage with it being a key theme across the sessions. 🌟 Some standout topics for me: The Incomplete Leader: On how collaboration and empowerment can bridge leadership gaps and create high performance teams. How We Improved Productivity with AI: An interesting take on how prioritizing people, processes, and ideas over tools can harness AI’s potential better. Panel Discussion on Unlocking Growth with AI: A panel discussion exploring how AI can be utilized at various levels within organizations, the challenges faced, and the safety nets needed for this rapidly evolving field. It's interesting how the perspectives on AI and its applications have evolved over time. It was good to see the shift from using AI for everything to implementing AI where it truly adds value.
