By definition a community is a group of people living in the same place however we believe community is far more than that. Community is a series of relationships, a feeling of belonging and common interests. Building a strong community is not an easy task and ensuring that your community thrives is a goal set by many developers, associations and network groups however not many achieve it. Simply placing a large number of people in the same place at the same time does not create community. How many times have you attended a large event and formed a lasting relationship with someone you have never met? PLANNING FOR HOA COMMUNITY EVENTS TO ENCOURAGE HOMEOWNER ENGAGEMENT Living in a homeowners association comes with several perks, one of which is getting to attend HOA community events. Social events are a good way to increase owner participation and instill a sense of community among residents. Many associations, though, don’t know the first thing about planning them. #SocialCommittee #EventMarketing #NeighborhoodEvents #CommunitySpirit #HOAActivities #ResidentInvolvement #HOACommunityEvents

I just read the article linked below, and it highlights the power of community events in fostering connections, personal growth, and boosting local economies. KUKUI Talks perfectly aligns with these principles by creating a space where stories, music, and conversation come together to build stronger relationships within our community. Just as the article emphasizes the value of gatherings for engagement and knowledge exchange, KUKUITalks provides a platform for meaningful interaction, promoting both individual and collective development through shared experiences. It shows how simple, well-planned events can drive connection and strengthen communities. https://lnkd.in/gn4PAhB2

**Why is networking at events not my favorite activity?** A simple internet search on how to expand my network or "how to network" yields the same repetitive information as always. Go to events, meetings, conferences, blah blah blah. And while this might work for many, I don't believe there's much value in the connections made at these places. Think about it: the ones who benefit the most from these events are honestly the organizers. Yes, it's true that there is some pleasure and enjoyment in gathering with like-minded people around a certain topic, but if you're not on stage or at a booth promoting your product or company, I highly doubt the value extracted is real—at least for business. So, what activities are a thousand times more convenient? The simplest things are often the most effective. For example: - The businessperson in the office next door. They may not be related to your market or be a potential customer, but have you considered that they might be 10x closer to the people you need to contact? They might have a relative or acquaintance in the field that could be of interest to you. - Those contacts we all have from some hobby club. Whether you're a member of a music group, running club, or any other leisure activity. - Your church, or whatever you frequently attend during the week. Another thing that comes to mind, which works better than attending all the events in your market throughout the year—and this I learned from someone I met a while ago and greatly admired—is helping as many people as we can. Getting involved in community activities, volunteering at places like your building, the senior community, etc. Providing value to everyone I can makes me feel good, gets me noticed where it really matters, and above all—and most importantly—generates far more valuable and meaningful connections. Prioritize genuinely helping others with your products, services, and true support. You'll see the difference and make yourself known in a better way.

**VIRTUE OF SOCIAL GATHERINGS** ▫️▫️▫️▪️▪️▫️▫️▫️▪️▪️▫️▫️▫️ The Significance of Social Gatherings Social gatherings have been an integral part of human society since time immemorial. Whether it’s a casual barbecue with neighbors, a festive holiday party, or a formal conference, these events serve as crucial platforms for interaction, bonding, and community building. In an era where digital communication often surpasses face-to-face interaction, the importance of physical social gatherings cannot be overstated. One of the primary benefits of social gatherings is the opportunity they provide for strengthening relationships. In-person interactions allow for deeper, more meaningful connections compared to online exchanges. Non-verbal cues, such as body language and facial expressions, play a significant role in communication and are best perceived in person. These cues help build trust and empathy among individuals, fostering stronger personal and professional relationships. Social gatherings also serve as a means of cultural transmission. They are occasions where traditions, values, and customs are shared and preserved. Whether it’s a family reunion, a religious celebration, or a community festival, these events help pass down cultural heritage from one generation to the next. This shared cultural experience is essential for maintaining a sense of identity and belonging within a community. Furthermore, social gatherings provide a sense of community and support. They create an environment where individuals can share their experiences, seek advice, and offer help to others. This support network is particularly valuable during challenging times, such as personal crises or societal upheavals. Being part of a community where one feels supported and understood can significantly enhance mental and emotional well-being. In addition to these personal benefits, social gatherings can also have broader societal impacts. They often serve as platforms for discussion and collaboration on social, political, and economic issues. Conferences, town hall meetings, and public forums allow for the exchange of ideas and the development of solutions to collective problems. These gatherings can foster a sense of civic responsibility and encourage active participation in community and societal affairs. Despite the rise of digital communication, the COVID-19 pandemic underscored the irreplaceable value of in-person social gatherings. The isolation experienced during lockdowns highlighted the profound human need for physical interaction. As restrictions have eased, there has been a renewed appreciation for the simple joy of gathering with others, be it for a meal, a celebration, or a casual get-together. #snscollege #drsnsdesignthinking #designthinkkng

“Behind the Scenes of Community Impact: Lessons from Organizing Large-Scale Events” Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of managing events that bring communities together and celebrate our rich local traditions. Two of my most memorable projects include a 10-day Christmas Fair “Tripoli Christmas Wonderland 2018” that welcomed over 21,000 attendees and a 10-day Ramadan event “Ramadan Nights 2019” that drew more than 23,000 visitors. What made these events special wasn’t just the numbers—it was the blend of local culture, international entertainment, and a shared sense of belonging. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned along the way: 1️⃣ Teamwork is Everything: The magic behind such events lies in the collaboration of dedicated teams and partners. 2️⃣ Planning for Success: Setting clear goals, timelines, and roles was crucial to ensure everything ran smoothly. 3️⃣ Community First: By highlighting local traditions and food, we created experiences that resonated deeply with attendees. These projects taught me that events can do more than entertain—they can create lasting memories, boost local economies, and foster unity. Whether you’re planning a corporate event or a community initiative, always remember: people are at the heart of every project. I’d love to hear about an event that inspired you or a lesson you’ve learned while managing one!

Why is no one talking in your community? and here's how you can change that. 1. By creating rituals: Rituals are the things we do that have a meaning, and they are a great way to create connections in a community. Like a Welcome Wednesday ritual, where you take in all new community members and introduce them to the group by answering 3 questions. 2. A digital component: Integrating a digital platform allows the members to interact outside of the scheduled meetings, share resources, and ask questions in real-time, ensuring that community engagement remains active. 3. Create FOMO (Fear of Missing Out): This means creating a sense of exclusivity for the people outside of the community that they are missing out on something valuable. For example: exclusive events, insightful discussions, or shared knowledge. 4. Paid communities: People appreciate paid communities when the value is clear. Paid memberships work particularly well when they offer niche or micro-communities. These groups act as safe spaces for discussions and will foster deeper engagement within the members. 5. Giveaways: Giveaways really work well for the key moments in your community, like when you first start or when you are introducing or offering a new course. They can be used to encourage people to join right away. For example, give the first 20 people who join your community a gift. 6. Create a directory: A directory is a great way for your members to add their profiles and see what others are up to. You can create these in a Google Sheet, a Google Form, etc. 7. Social chapters: This involves members who volunteer to take charge, become thought leaders, and get popular by doing so. These social chairs then host the events or quarterly dinners with around 30 more or less members, for which they are provided a particular budget and a playbook to lead the discussions. 8. Foster community-led events: When you are hosting any instructor-led events that are in your timezone, make sure to do a call out to anyone in the community who wants to cover any other time zone. This helps your global community feel connected. 9. Share memes, images, and gifs: Nothing screams more fun than a well-placed gif or a meme. Use images to break up your content and draw attention to posts. 10. Start by asking a lot of questions: It invites others to join in. Start with leading sentences like, "I would like to know more about" or "Great insights! Would you be up for sharing more about it?" Or "That’s a great question; I wonder if anyone else here has experience with it." What has been the most effective strategy you've used to grow or engage your community? Let’s share experiences and ideas—drop your thoughts below! #community #people #growth
