📢 Our new report – Impact Claims and Metrics: Considerations for the Cellular Agriculture Industry– highlights key considerations for the industry concerning the measurement, reporting, and communication of its impact. A key takeaway is the importance of clear communication regarding impact, emphasising the necessity of substantiating claims with robust evidence, or otherwise incorporating appropriate qualifying statements. We argue that effectively managed communication about impact presents an opportunity to build support, trust, and adoption of products. We are calling upon Australian industry leaders to 👉 🗣️ Consciously consider how they shape and communicate impact claims 🤝Align on a consistent industry-wide approach Over the coming months, CAA plans to engage with the Australian sector, starting with a workshop titled ‘Cultivating accountability – evidence gaps in cellular agriculture’ in partnership with Food Frontier at Alt Proteins 24. We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it! 🙏 A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the research and development of this report, particularly Chloe Dempsey 🔸, Emily Wu, Beck Calder-Flynn and Tom Chapman. For me, this is a really important piece of work, and highlights the importance of impact-oriented and independent organisations like Cellular Agriculture Australia. I am excited by what lies ahead. Especially bringing the sector together to discuss and hopefully align on a consistent approach to the measurement, reporting and communication of its impact. Why? Because, one of the unique value propositions the sector presents is its willingness and ability to work together on common and non-competitive spaces. And, because it allows us to play our role in facilitating a process that brings the right people together to do just that.

Our colleague Julia Martin moderated a panel discussion titlted the “Commercialisation of Cell-Culture and Precision Fermentation Products” at the Food Tech Congress in Warsaw. 🇵🇱 Here are Julia's key take-aways: 💰 Public funding is key to continue accelerating developments in cellular agriculture. 🚨 While cultivated meat is caught up in a polarised political environment in the US, regulation will most likely not affect be affected by this. 👨👩👧👦 Consumer trust is key for the industry to succeed. It has been a pleasure to join the conference. What are your thoughts on the commercialisation of cultivated and precision fermented products? #PrecisionFermentation #CellularAgriculture #CultivatedMeat #ProVeg #FoodInnovation

🌾 Reflecting on an insightful and impactful roundtable focused on the future of agricultural innovation in the United States! Our nation's food and agricultural system is not only vast and interconnected but also faces numerous challenges from extreme weather, pests, diseases, and supply chain disruptions. Addressing these issues requires a proactive and coordinated approach. This week, the Bipartisan Policy Center and ClearPath co-hosted a private roundtable discussion on how to accelerate high-impact agricultural innovation through the Agriculture Advanced Research and Development Authority (AgARDA). Modeled after successful agencies such as DARPA and ARPA-E, AgARDA is designed to catalyze visionary projects that tackle critical challenges head-on. We had the pleasure of having USDA Deputy Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics (REE) Sanah Baig and Sen. Roger Marshall’s Legislative Associate Lacy Pitts provide opening remarks and engage throughout the discussion. We also had Pete Nelson of AgLaunch frame our discussion on the greatest challenges of the Ag sector and David Babson of XPRIZE frame our discussion on learnings from other ARPA programs. During the discussion, we delved into identifying key barriers hindering innovation in agriculture and brainstormed actionable strategies for AgARDA's effective implementation. Participants from industry, academia, government and non-profits shared invaluable insights on how AgARDA can drive transformative breakthroughs that enhance food security, sustainability, and economic competitiveness by: 🌱 Leveraging partnerships with the private sector 🌱 Adopting lessons from successful ARPA programs, and 🌱 Fostering collaboration across disciplines and sectors As we move forward, I am energized by the commitment of stakeholders to championing AgARDA's expansion and maximizing its impact. Together, we can overcome obstacles, innovate boldly, and secure a resilient future for American agriculture. #AgriculturalInnovation #AgARDA #USDA #ResearchAndDevelopment #FoodSecurity #Sustainability #PublicPrivatePartnerships Natalie T. We must emphasize agricultural innovation and strengthen support for our farmers in light of the ongoing conflicts and famines that hinder agricultural progress and jeopardize global food security. To overcome these obstacles, we must use cutting-edge technology and ensure everyone has access to the information and resources needed to transform farming into a sustainable approach. On this #NationalAgDay, let us commit to building an environment where new ideas can thrive and farmers have the tools they need to feed the world, carrying on the tradition of strength and innovation that has always defined our farming community. Imagine a world where agriculture thrives and peace is the norm. Let's make it a reality. By investing in agriculture, we can feed the world and promote global harmony. At the end of January, a new consortium called FEASTS (Fostering European Cellular Agriculture for Sustainable Transition Solutions) received funding from the European Union Horizon program. Consisting of 36 organizations from 17 countries, FEASTS’ goal is to deliver an unbiased knowledge base about the role of cultivated meat and seafood in the future of food, focusing on sustainability and interdisciplinary approaches. Over the next three years, FEASTS will conduct investigations encompassing nutritional, health, regulatory, and ethical aspects of cellular agriculture foods, as well as environmental and social life cycle analyses for its impact. The group will also explore the impact of cellular agriculture on the future of farming. Consortium organizations include universities, nonprofits, startups, research institutions, and farmer representatives. #cellag #research #futureoffood #cellbasedmeat #cultivatedmeat #EU
