      The Spirit of Giving: People, Places, and Organizations you can donate to today.                ‘Tis the Holiday Season and often around this time of year is when many are in need. Here at QSI, we have compiled some local and national places and organizations that you can donate to financially or volunteer your time to make this season merry and bright for those around us.     Donate Blood:   -      Red Cross takes blood donations year round. To find a donation or blood drive near you, visit https://lnkd.in/ebwyUut.     Volunteering:   There are various ways to volunteer and give back to your local community. Below are a few different places or organizations you can volunteer with.   -      Meals on Wheels. Help make and deliver meals to local community members. -      Feed My Starving Children. Help make and pack meals to send to children all over the world. Grab family or friends and make a night out of it! -      Animal Shelters. Animal shelters like the Humane Society need volunteers to spend time playing, walking, and cuddling with furry friends. This helps the animals prepare for future homes. -      Literacy Minnesota. Volunteer your time to help individuals improve their reading, writing, and English-speaking skills. -      People Serving People. A shelter that provides multiple resources to families experiencing homelessness. Spend time assisting with various education, financial literacy, or other programs to help these families get back on their feet.       These are just a few ways to give back to our local community here in Minnesota and elsewhere. Not only can you volunteer your time or donate blood, but you can also provide financial donations to the organizations mentioned above, or others. Central Texas Food Bank fights hunger remarkably efficiently, ensuring no family goes without nutritious meals. As we approach the end of the year, it's a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving back. Did you know that in Indiana, approximately 14% of households are food insecure? That's thousands of families and individuals, including children, who struggle to access consistent, nutritious meals. It's a sobering reality—but one we can address together. I'm proud to serve on the board of Pack Away Hunger, a nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity. Through fundraising efforts and volunteer meal-packing events, we create nutritious meal kits that directly support hungry families and communities across Indiana. Here’s why your support matters: -Impact on children: 15.2% of Indiana’s youth aged 10-17 are affected by obesity, often linked to limited access to healthy food options. -Household struggles: Nearly half (46.3%) of households receiving SNAP benefits in Indiana have children—yet many still experience gaps in meeting their nutritional needs. -Missed meals: In Indianapolis alone, over half a million meals are missed each month due to food insecurity. Pack Away Hunger is on a mission to change these statistics, one meal kit at a time. But we can’t do it without your help. Whether it’s a financial contribution or volunteering your time, every bit of support helps us put food on the table for those in need. As we look toward the New Year, let’s take action now.
