Today is Earth Day. The ideal occasion to stress the importance of sustainability and the need of fighting climate change, preserving our planet and passing it on to the next generations such as we received it. Although we're living in a world full of threats, misery and war, let's not forget the many beautiful things we still have - and let's not forget either those people who lack those things. This beautiful song with ditto images (link below) should remind us of the beauty of the Earth and keep us from doomscrolling and defeatism. Even though it doesn't change anything about the reality we live in, it at least can prevent us from getting upset and give us a look at life from a different perspective. 🌍🙏 Today marks one month from the beginning of The Season of Creation 2024. The Season of Creation is a worldwide interreligious and ecumenical event, addressed as was Pope Francis' Encyclical "Laudato si'" – to all people of good will.  The observance runs until October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, and calls all people to focus the spiritual, intellectual and ethical resources of their own faith tradition on efforts to secure the future of the planet, "our common home." While recognizing the terrible threat posed by climate change, loss of biodiversity, biodegradation and just plain indifference, the Season of Creation believes that people of faith and conscience can draw from their diverse traditions solutions to the problems that challenge us. Although many faiths and traditions are involved, the Season is not limited to people of faith.
