Founders can often make a better return by selling to a competitor. In this great interview with Reed Hastings, founder of Netflix, Reed talks about how Amazon wanted to acquire Netflix in the early days. If they had sold and simply held onto their Amazon stock he would have made the same return as he did by working his a$$ off for 20 years! The same is likely true for many startups acquired by Google, Meta, etc. https://lnkd.in/ghPE2SiG

Failing to adapt is a business killer, and it comes for you no matter how big you are. Kodak was a giant—until they ignored digital cameras. Blockbuster laughed at Netflix. If you want your business to survive, listen to your customers and stay ahead of trends. #businesstips #businessmistakes #businessmindet #startps #blockbuster

Don’t allow yourself to have everything you work so hard to build to eventually fall by the wayside. Because of arrogance created by your current level of #success. Many giants have crumbled while others learned to adapt. As time change so do people, their interest, and how they do things. This has been the case since the dawn of humanity and that reality still remains true still to this day. Businesses that fail to realize this inevitably fail in do time while the ones who do outlast the #competition by a wide margin Don't be the one that fails to realize. #businesses #innovate #future #netflix

Hollywood feels stuck, right? Endless sequels, remakes, and franchise reboots. But this month, Tubi is flipping the script with Stubios – a new project bringing fresh voices and diverse stories directly to your screen. Stubios lets up-and-coming creators, or “Stubio runners,” make content for Tubi and earn the chance to greenlight their next project based on viewer engagement. No old-school gatekeepers, just new talent and real audience impact. And brands are catching on. PepsiCo’s Starry, Tubi's first brand partner, is already showing up in Stubios' debut series, Mo’ Waffles. Starring TikTok creators Grant Gibbs and Ashley Gill, Mo’ Waffles brings authenticity to its product placements and creative freedom to its storylines. With Stubios, the audience holds the power - if a show resonates, the creator’s next project is greenlit automatically. This isn’t just content; it’s a new wave of storytelling where YOU decide what thrives. https://lnkd.in/eSVEsuc7 #Tubi #Stubios #FreshVoices #Hollywood

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘅 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 💡 Hey everyone! I was scrolling through YouTube today and found this video that really hit home for me. It's about how Blockbuster, the big movie rental company back in the day, totally missed the boat on online streaming and ended up going bankrupt. 🤯 The video features insights from Reed Hastings himself, reflecting on how Netflix's near-death experience with Blockbuster actually shaped them into the company they are today. The video talks about how Blockbuster was so focused on making money in the short term that they didn't see the huge potential of online streaming. It's a classic example of the "Innovation Paradox" – when companies are so busy protecting their current business that they miss out on the next big thing. 😕 This video reminded me of my recent Founders Stories post on the Innovation Tightrope, where I talk about the challenges of balancing new ideas with making sure your business stays afloat. If you want to learn how to avoid making the same mistakes as Blockbuster, check it out! https://lnkd.in/d-nGYQcT Link to the article on Innovation Paradox in the comments 👇 #innovation #startups #disruption #leadership #entrepreneurship

Why Copycats Fail! In business, following the herd means you’re already behind. Innovation isn’t about being the first to market. It’s about being first to matter. Netflix didn’t invent movie rentals. They just made them not suck. What about you? Are you leading your industry or just copying competitors? DM me if you’re ready to stop following and start leading. #brandstrategy #brandambition #conquerOS
