We want to give a big shoutout and commend each and every one of you who has taken the initiative to invest in an IFAK or (tactical) individual first aid kit. Your commitment to preparedness and safety is truly commendable, and we applaud you for prioritizing the well-being of yourself and those around you. However, we believe that simply owning an IFAK is not enough. To ensure that you are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle emergency situations effectively, we strongly recommend signing up for the Charlie Group Operational Bleeding Control Course. This course is specifically designed to provide you with comprehensive training on proper procedures for controlling bleeding, which is a critical skill in emergency situations. By participating in this course, you not only enhance your own ability to provide immediate assistance but also mitigate legal liability concerns that may arise. Mark your calendars for June 1, as that's when the course will be held. Don't miss out on this invaluable opportunity to further empower yourself and make a difference in times of need. Remember, being prepared is not just about having the right tools but also having the right knowledge and skills to utilize them effectively. Originally designed for Close Protection Operatives and those working in similar fields, the First Person on Scene course has become popular as an alternative to the traditional workplace first aid courses. The 4 day course is highly practical, focusing on building a confident approach to casualty management through scenario work involving casualty simulation. This qualification meets the requirements of the SIA for Licensed Close protection officers and has been supported by leading security companies. The course covers: ✅️ Emergency care of casualties for the first responder ✅️ Recognising and managing trauma for the first responder ✅️ Recognising and managing medical conditions for the first responder The Level 3 Award for the First Person on Scene exceeds the requirements of first aid in the workplace and has been acknowledged as a First Aid equivalent. https://lnkd.in/efqtUAtD Have your employees trained at a higher level of first aid, ensure your Teams meet the expectations that you expect. Working in the security industry, the emergency First Aid qualification (EFAW) is really the absolute basic that ALL security personal at ALL levels should have, But it does not cover the normal injuries we come across in front line roles such as Door supervision, events, and as response teams. When dealing with a casualty, ensure your staff understand how to check a patients consciousness level following the AVPU scale, the lower you get, the worse it is! Injuries common in these sectors include but not limited to Poisons (Drugs including alcohol), concussion from slips, trips, falls, and violence, Blood loss from various sources, disorientation from loud music...the list is quite long. Dont do just the bare minimum, ensure your staff are trained in the skills they NEED for their job role!

1. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require you to provide ‘adequate and appropriate first-aid facilities, equipment and people.' That includes your staff and your customers, clients or pupils. However, if your workplace has moderate or significant health and safety risks, e.g. you use machinery or hazardous materials, work outside, or work at height, then you should have a trained first-aider. When was the last time you did a First Aid Assessment? If you need help, get in touch, we provide advice as well as practical hands-on #FirstAid training.
