Prepping drywall for paint is a crucial step to ensure a flawless finish and long-lasting results. Follow these 6 steps for a professional-quality paint job: 1. Inspect the walls: Use a bright work light to identify any imperfections on the drywall surface. Sand down any bumps or rough spots with 150 grit sandpaper or finer to create a smooth canvas for painting. 2. Broom/dust the walls: After sanding, gently sweep or dust the walls to remove any loose particles. Allow the dust to settle before proceeding to the next step. 3. Sweep then mop the floor: To prevent fine dust from contaminating your space, sweep the floor and then mop it with a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid using a regular vacuum cleaner, as it may get damaged by the fine dust. Instead, opt for a wet/dry vac for efficient cleanup. 4. Give the walls a final dusting: Using a cloth or sponge that is barely damp, give the walls a final dusting to remove any remaining debris or residue. 5. Prime the new drywall: Before painting, prime the drywall with a quality drywall primer. This helps to seal the surface and ensure proper adhesion of the paint. Don't forget to prime all walls, including corners, for a uniform finish. 6. Paint walls with your chosen color: Once the primer has dried, apply two coats of paint for optimal coverage and durability. Budget brands may require additional coats, so be sure to use high-quality paint for best results. By following these steps, you'll be well on your way to achieving a beautifully painted space that looks professionally done. #PaintPrep #DIYPainting #HomeImprovement #DrywallRepair #PaintingTips #ProfessionalPainting #HomeRenovation 🎨🏠✨ 🌐 https://rb.gy/3tkm95 ☎️ 705-787-1401 #interiordesign #design #interior #homedecor #architecture #home #decor #interiors #homedesign #art #interiordesigner #furniture #decoration #interiordecor #interiorstyling #designer #homesweethome #inspiration #livingroom #furnituredesign #realestate #instagood #style
