Let's talk cabinetry for a hot minute! How do I figure out which finish and style is best when there are literally thousands of stunning options to choose from? Well my friend, I will tell you. ⤵️ It is as simple as 1, 2, 3. 1️⃣ First, I start with reviewing the other wood spices and materails are in the space. What stands out? What is remaining that I will want to tie into? What elements in the existing space do the clients feel drawn to? What do I feel drawn to? 2️⃣ Next, I review the architecture of the space. This often points me to the materail for the cabinetry whether it is wood, painted, or even laminate (Yep! Laminate has come a long way and is incredible - don't be weary, embrace it!) 3️⃣ Finally, I review how I want the cabinetry to feel in the space. Do I want it to be BOLD and stand out? If so, perhaps a fun color or bold wood grain or perhaps an unexpected door style. OR do I want it to be a subtle design element? If so, perhaps it is a neutral paint or laminate and an expected door style (EG: a style that exits in the space or is typical for the architecture). That is it! ✅ Designer & Styling: Suzanne Scott @suzannekristineinteriors & Lyndsey Bosko @lyndseybosko.design of @colorandesignstudio Photographer: Kara Mercer @_karamercer . . . . . #bathroominspo #bathroomdecor #bath #bathroominspiration #bathroomgoals #bathroom #bathroomdesign #bathroomideas #greentile #whiteoak #cabinetry #riftwhiteoak #shakercabinets #remodel #bathroomremodel #bathmakeover #blackplumbing #deltafaucet #kohler #homedecor #architecture #interior #interiorstyle #art #organic #homedesign #color #bold #renovation #decor

When I style a room, I use the technique of ‘layering’. Within this technique, the first layer typically involves setting the foundation with wall treatments, ie: paint or wallpaper. Next, I work out the placement of the larger furniture pieces, such as sofas, chairs and sideboards to establish the room's main structure. Once these are in position, I add a third layer with the smaller items, like coffee and side tables. These not only provide additional composition for the space , but set up natural points for artworks and mirrors, which are a fourth layer. The final layer that brings the room to life are plants, lamps, vases and memorabilia to fill in the gaps and create interesting focal points. Elements like rugs, cushions, throws, and curtains then add tactile contrast, as well as visual depth. The end result is beautifully layered design. #donnawhiteinteriors #donnawhite #nzdesign #nzinteriordesign #interiordesign #aucklanddesign #aucklandinteriordesign #topnzdesigner #topnzinteriordesigner #sustainable #inchbald #interiordesigninspiration #interiordesignideas #designer #renovation #homerenovation #design #interiors #homedecor #nzmade #auckland #newzealand #nz #nzstyle #exterior #interior #colour #textile #jamesdunlop #layering #sheen

Break the “fifth wall” ..... 😂😂 ... no no In fact, celebrate rhe 5th wall as its often called.....Ceilings. Ceilings don’t tend to get a lot of love on the whole. Boring old white with perhaps a bit of colour on the cornicing is usually about as exciting as it gets. Designing ceilings have always been one if my favourites. Statement ceilings are designed by painting, papering or even adding a mural can give a room an instant lift. Painting a ceiling in a dark colour can make a space feel warm and cosy, while metallic paints or faux tin tiles give it a more Art Deco look. Usage of textured wallpapers, or textile or a mix of two or three different materials is a design creates a unique piece of art. So next time are you going to be more open to breaking the ceiling 😂.....errrr.....Celebrating the Ceiling? #celing #ceilingdesign #designtips #interiordesign #interiors #design #madhuranjeetsingh

Conceptual working for a project with a double-height space and aiming to blend traditional and modern design elements effectively. Design Concept 1. Wall Lights: Using wall lights instead of a major ceiling fixture is a great way to enhance the verticality of the space and draw attention to the height. 2. Handmade Ceiling Light: A distinctive, handmade light fixture can act as a focal point, offering a modern touch while integrating artisanal craftsmanship. Ensure it complements the wall lights and doesn't overpower the space. 3.Brick Cladding: It creates a warmth and adds texture to the wall. The authentic brick cladding provides a rich, tactile surface that evokes warmth and tradition. 4. Modern Contrast to balance the traditional brick with modern elements, you might incorporate sleek, minimalist furniture or contemporary artwork. 5. Color and Material Contrast: Use contrasting materials and colors to highlight the fusion of styles. For example, you could pair the brick with modern fluted, metal, terrazzo or glass elements. Some of the practical considerations: A. Functionality B. Acoustic Treatment C. Proportion and Scale By thoughtfully integrating these elements, you can create a space that feels both welcoming and innovative. #corporateinterior #officespace #officeinterior #spaceplanning #Conceptualmoodboard #moodbaord #sketchup #photoshop #illustration

Sometimes it's difficult to find the perfect piece to fit into a space and to complement existing furniture. So this is where the fun begins! This is my passion and something I truly I love doing. If I can’t find something already made, then I set about designing it. As often is the case, initial concepts morph into something rather different. In this instance, when we spoke to the bespoke joiner, he suggested using different coloured wood veneers cut in varying shapes to give the illusion of an angled front to the cabinet. This was not only cost saving advice, but it will look stunning too. This is why I always listen to the experts. As soon as it the cabinet is finished, I will photograph it and post an image, of yet another exciting project. #donnawhiteinteriors #donnawhite #nzdesign #nzinteriordesign #interiordesign #aucklanddesign #aucklandinteriordesign #topnzdesigner #topnzinteriordesigner #sustainable #inchbald #interiordesigninspiration #interiordesignideas #designer #renovation #homerenovation #design #interiors #homedecor #nzmade #auckland #newzealand #nz #nzstyle #exterior #interior #colour

This image is a series of photos of chandeliers showing different angles and details. The photo on the top left shows the top and sides of the chandelier, where multiple layers of transparent crystal strips can be seen connected together to form a long decorative piece, through which light is refracted beautifully. The photo at the top right focuses on the metal parts of the chandelier, especially the gold trim and hooks, which have intricate patterns and decorations on the metal parts, showing a certain level of craftsmanship. The photo at the bottom left shows the overall effect of the chandelier in the interior environment. The chandelier is suspended from the ceiling with a sofa and some decorations below, making the whole space appear spacious and bright. In the lower right corner, the chandelier is taken from another Angle, also showing its exquisite crystal structure and gold decorative details, with some curtains and walls in the background. The image on the left of the center shows the chandelier in a dimmer environment, probably to better highlight the design and light effect of the chandelier itself. The image on the right of the center is a close-up shot that more clearly shows the details of the chandelier, including the texture and shine of the crystal and metal parts. Overall, this collection of photos shows in detail the design, materials and actual effect of a luxurious chandelier in an indoor environment. #homedesign #decoration #highting
