As a woman and passionate advocate for the rights of women and girls, I stand in solidarity with the UN Women and the global community in calling for the protection and empowerment of women everywhere. This period of activism reminds us of our collective responsibility to challenge harmful norms, educate communities, and create safe spaces for women and girls to thrive. Today, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we pause to honor the lives lost to gender-based violence and stand in solidarity with survivors. This day reminds us of the tragedy at École Polytechnique in 1989, when 14 women were murdered because they were women. It’s a stark reminder of the urgent need to end violence and discrimination in all its forms. Let’s commit to fostering a safer, more inclusive society. Each action, no matter how small, contributes to change. Speak up. Support survivors. Advocate for equality. Together, we can break the cycle of violence. 💜 Remember. Reflect. Act. 💜 #December6 #EndViolence #GenderEquality #RememberAndAct
