Good to participate in Blue Earth Summit today to discuss Big Give plans for the biggest green match fund appeal ever, now being planned for April 2025… We want to create ‘the comic relief’ of environmental fundraising. The #greenmatchfund raised over £6m for 249 environmental and nature charities this year but now it’s time to scale up. We want it to become the biggest annual green fundraising appeal in the country. Encouragingly there was interest from potential corporate sponsors for some of the exciting things we have planned and it was great to meet some of the participating charities and to learn about the wonderful things they have achieved with the funds raised. Basically we’re looking for more charities, more champions and more corporations to get involved. Want to make an impact? Want to see your contribution multiplied? There was no way we could let this year’s theme for the Great Big Green Week pass without giving it a massive shout-out 🙌 People across the UK are being encouraged to swap things, whether that’s ditching plastic for paper packaging, or switching from single-use carrier bags to reusable totes.
