And so fast, here we are again, and it's this time of the year, midway from #XMas to #NewYear, where - at least for me - all slows down, allowing us to take a break and reflect, while the energy for a fresh start into 2024 already can be felt (or at least the calories, aquired). 🍪🎂 Looking back, for me, 2023 can be characterized by one word: Unpredictably.🚪‼️ Certainly, this has an element of exhaustion to accommodate various changes in both professional as well as personal life - so, the resting now is very much appreciated 🎄🎅🙏 However, on the other hand, this meant for me, that there were various and numerous positive surprises, I wouldn't have imagined to happen during 2023 such fast or not at all. To highlight one in particular: Meeting and working with new people and/or more closely both within #LYB as well on advisory side. 🤝🎁🔥 Aside from these factual items & changes, what (continues to) amaze(s) me is HOW these changes and challenges have been positively taken on by my #Family and my #Team, likewise. Turning challenges into chances, taking backlashes as learing opportunities, or additional projects as a mean to reflect on priorities and re-think the current state and way of approaching an ever-changing to-do-list 🤩🤩🤩 Therefore, when I can wish for "one" thing for the #NewYear, it is the continuation of this energy, health and positivity to be able to encounter new challenges also in the next year - as the only constant is change itself #PantaRhei ! 💪💪💪 Wish you all a peaceful start into #NewYear2024!
May this Christmas season fill your home with warmth, light and joy.

A connection of mine recently shared the below and it got my brain spinning, because I think this goes way deeper than screen time and into the darkness of mental health and contorted notions of success. You see, many of us are taught that you should always be working, driving towards greatness, constantly be relevant...which has led to this notion of constantly connected, always ready to respond so that we aren't forgotten. This idea resonates in sales as we are told, "there are no set hours" and "the first 60 minutes after a client sends you something are crucial to respond or you will be beaten to the punch". The second part of this is I think it isn't about just the reconnect from screens that happens in the shower, for many of us, the 10 minutes we have in the shower is the only time our body and mind has to stop spinning, the rush of the water is cathartic and allows us to breathe and our brian to reshuffle and reconnect with parts of itself that have been silenced and not utilized to solve the current work, life or family crisis. Lastly, and this goes to a post Jon Santee made about drinking and a comment ☀️ Amy Stokes-Waters made about it's effect on getting the creative juices flowing (2 glasses of wine opens the brain. There is a name for this, I'm blanking), is that alcohol has become Americans way of self prescribed medicine for the mental health issues we are told should remain hidden in the closet. Have social anxiety, drink; Need to decompress, drink; Want to have fun but are so wound up; drink.... So the question becomes...why has this become the social norm; the pushing of the "must always be in full drive, hide your mental health and then drink to fit in" like noone else is dealing with the same issues you are. Whose created this cycle and how do we all collectively break it?
