While studying our customers’ behavior, we couldn’t help but notice a curious fact: during lunchtime, a significant number of grocery store receipts are being added. This observation sheds light on the unique shopping habits and preferences of our users during midday hours. The emphasis on grocery store receipts hints at a focus on meal planning, fresh food purchases, and perhaps a quick lunchtime shopping trip to stock up on essentials. However, a significant number of participants of our survey said that they are buying lots of ready meals. So, probably, getting a ready-made lunch in a grocery store is a convenient way to spend the lunchtime. Send us a message to get the research highlights #CustomerBehavior #GroceryShopping #Insights

See this gap in my meal planner? That's just for winging it. 😂 But 6 out of 7 nights, our meals are planned (and our shopping list grows on the right, over time). I implemented using this meal planning fridge magnet about 6 months ago (it's a $6 thing from Kmart). It's been a game changer. Every Sunday, I plan out what meals we're having each evening and lunch is just left overs from the day before. Mostly, I meal prep on Sunday afternoon - often just chopping up vegetables and measuring out spices to be ready to go in my slow cooker each morning (also a Kmart purchase - I think it was the $29 one). And I can't believe how much it has created freedom in my head and removed decision fatigue. It's not the only thing I've implemented to help with decision fatigue though. I'm always implementing single decisions to reduce multiple decisions later on. Do you do the same thing?

"Delivery fees are killing my margins." Nope, you’re thinking about this the wrong way. Third-party delivery fees aren’t the problem—they’re an opportunity. Here’s how to flip the script: 1. Adjust pricing to offset fees. Add a delivery-specific markup. Customers expect to pay a premium for convenience, and most won’t hesitate to spend more for food delivered right to their door. Let them absorb the fees, not you. 2. Create a delivery-optimized menu. Design a menu specifically for delivery. Highlight high-margin, quick-prep dishes that travel well. It’s not just about offering your regular menu—it’s about curating items that maximize profit while maintaining quality. 3. Leverage the indulgence factor. This is where the magic happens. Delivery is private, so guests are more likely to splurge—adding that dessert, extra side, or larger drink. Studies show people indulge more when no one’s watching. Capitalize on this with upsell options, bundle deals, and enticing add-ons. It’ll boost the average spend and create significant impact across your business. Key takeaway: Focus on indulgence. Make it easy for customers to treat themselves, and your margins will thank you. #DeliveryBusiness #RestaurantGrowth #ThirdPartyDelivery #ProfitBoost #FoodDelivery #MenuStrategy #Upselling #CustomerExperience #FoodService #RestaurantMarketing #BoostRevenue

What’s in the Easy Meals? I would say may different types of Easy Meals…. what can you find in here? Spatchcocks Joints Stir fry Slow cook (sous vide) Ready to cook portions Some things need decanting to cook, others straight to oven, some you need to stand at the pan. Meals components serving two up to people and occasions from mid week meals up to roast dinners. Helpful but different levels of easy. So what? Well some shoppers will have ingrained behaviours, know what’s here as it’s in their repotiore. You could grow sales through getting them to increase frequency with different formats. But some shoppers may be shopping other parts of the aisle for similar occasions who won’t engage in the Easy Meals. How do you get to these? Range by usage and occasion? Split up the category? But then how do you talk to shoppers about it? Lots of analysis probably from different insight sources would help get to the answers. Ultimately which offers the bigger opportunity and how hard is each route to deliver? And what are the risks? I worked on Ready to Cook for several years and it’s a complex space. I like working on complex categories to create future plans and put them into action. #categorymanagement #fmcg #consulting
