📣 Powering Queensland Small Businesses 📣 The Queensland Government is proud to release the Queensland Small Business Strategy 2024-27. The strategy has the voice of small businesses at its core, with almost 2,000 small businesses, industry representatives, peak bodies and key stakeholders providing input during an extensive consultation process. Based on this vital feedback, their three-year strategy will address four key areas: • Lowering costs for small business • Boosting opportunities for small business • Building resilience, capability and workforce • Growing diversity. The new strategy helps to lower costs and ease cost of living pressures on small business, as well as boost productivity and maximise procurement and supply chain opportunities for small businesses available as part of Queensland’s infrastructure Big Build of housing, energy, hospitals, schools, and transport. They are supporting small business by also addressing the key challenges business face, including concerns around operating costs and increasing the skills and capabilities of small business owners and their workforce to enable them to innovate, adapt, grow, and thrive. 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗧𝗛 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗: Round 6 opening Wednesday 1 May 2024 The Business Growth Fund targets high-growth businesses that can accelerate growth, drive Queensland's economy, and employ more Queenslanders. It provides funding for small and medium-sized high-growth businesses to buy specialised equipment, enabling them to unlock growth potential and maximise economic returns. Funded businesses are expected to: • increase confidence for growth, transitioning from small to medium-sized • increase productivity, turnover, profit and/or employment by 20% • improve confidence to automate, scale up, increase market share, diversify and/or exploit exporting opportunities. Application process: • Stage 1: Expression of interest • Stage 2: Full application • Stage 3: Pitch The program is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).
