Tune in to WTMJ 620 AM this Friday at 9 AM to listen to Chef Feker with Steve Scaffidi. The Power of Our Choices: The politics of our food are in our hands. We choose our allegiance. We are the voters, casting our ballots with our pocketbooks every day. We buy what we need or what we think we need. It’s up to us to decide what we are voting for. This decision encompasses everything related to food, including making healthy choices. Craving flavors? Create them. Vote to be the leader of the flavors you develop, and by doing so, join the food-as-medicine party.

Excellent PR and storytelling
After a long day in the Oval Office, what does a tired president want to eat? Recently retired White House executive chef Cristeta Comerford has the answer. Speaking with All Things Considered host Ari Shapiro, Comerford said one of the tasks in her nearly 30 years at the White House was reading the room — and the news — to understand what mood the president was going to be in when they came home for dinner. At the end of the day, sometimes a grilled cheese and tomato soup was necessary. Listen to the full interview on NPR.org.

If you could soak up a cookbook in the course of a weekend, and learn the benefits of what you eat, plus how to make healthy food, would you participate? What if it was free to attend? We’ve got a full lineup of speakers ready to deliver a fabulous live, online event, waiting for you to pull up a seat at the table. But we still need your feedback. This event, slotted to go live in May, needs an extra touch of discussion. We’d like to add panels with experts in them, and want to brainstorm interesting panel topics with you. Some of my ideas: 🥢 Cultural Flavors: Celebrating Plant-Based Dishes from Around the World 🌯 Finding Awesome Pllant Ingredients in Trader Joe’s We need YOUR input too - what discussions would you like to see held about healthy food? PS if you know an amazing food expert, tag them, or let us know.
