An interesting report today published by British Future and Spirit of 2012 on the role football can play in creating social cohesion in diverse communities, through a common love of football. Do you have any examples you can share of sports doing precisely that? Can sport be a leader in building cohesion and cultural competence in local communities ?
Report out today on a brilliant British Future project, 'Shared Goals', looking at the power of football clubs to bridge divides by building shared and inclusive local identity in the towns and cities where they're based. Great to work with British Future colleague Jake Puddle and Brentford Football Club + Huddersfield Town Football Club on this. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/gfTGTefY

Great to see this research. Sport really can be a leader in society to help build cultural competence, social cohesion through our common love for sport. Although this uses the example of football, it can apply in other settings. I have the privilege of being involved at Edinburgh South Cricket Club, where the club's membership includes 17 different nationalities, with a diverse range of ethnicities, religions, cultural identities and beliefs - but one common thing unites us, a shared love of cricket. Cricket is a game that requires people to spend vast amounts of time together on the field, working through situations together as a team to achieve a result. Through simply being around many others with different cultural experiences and identities, I've learnt so much. Most importantly, we've embraced the multiple cultural identities and beliefs as our strength, finding space to learn about and support each other. Less 'integration into a culture' and more 'evolution of our culture together'. Sport really can be a leader in society for bringing people together. Do you have a great example from your own club or sport? Feel free to share on our Equity Coach page!

31 Seasons of the Premier League (plus the one we are in now so 32). Over the history of the premier league there has only been 7 teams to win, massively dominated by Manchester United up until 2012 where we then start to see Manchester City attempt to take centre stage, who’ll win next? For those that want to know the scores on the doors since the season kicked off in 1992, so far: Team Wins Manchester United 13 Manchester City 6 Arsenal 5 Chelsea 3 Liverpool 2 Leeds 1 Blackburn 1 I’m sure plenty of you can wade in and let me know why since 2012 have Man U only been in the top 3 twice since 2012? You typically support a team for life, the good and the bad, however you have a choice when it comes to your finances, continue with your old ways or old financial adviser, holding onto history, hoping things to take a turn and return to winning ways again or you act now. Give me a call on 01483 654135 to discuss your next move. You may get back less than the amount invested.

You want your business to be a success, to win. So you need to partner with winners. It's all about the laws of attraction. So look no further than the champion of a high stakes (round at the pub) elite level (some of us played a bit) 6 nations fantasy league. If I can do that with a few of the Welsh team in my side imagine what I could to help your finance requirements. #SpeakToSam #Winners #lawsofattraction.
