Potential Oil Spill Detected via #sentinel2 of Sentinel Hub - Your Input Needed! Oil spill detected 25 km from the tourist island #Rhodes. The size of the spill about 35 square km What is the source of the oil (natural or anthropogenic)❓ The image shows a sheen on the water's surface with a distinct geometric form, often indicative of an anthropogenic (human-caused) source. The wide tail suggests a moving source, and the lack of dissolution at the end might indicate a recent spill. Share your expertise to help refine our understanding of this potential event. #OilSpill #oilpollution #RemoteSensing #earthobservation #OceanHealth #tourism

With the stormy season upon us, and relatively cooler temperatures, it makes it more comfortable to be more physically active outdoors in the Maltese islands. It's perfect to put on your trekking shoes, explore the natural environment and also get your hands dirty! In a couple of week's time, and if rain continues to bless our islands, one can observe sprouting saplings from beneath big carob trees which can be collected, and nurtured to grow into big trees for afforestation projects. Imagine having a tree or multiple ones planted in your name! 🌳 #environment #trees #malta #green #climatechange #rain #saplings

Peak Season: May to October Weather: The dry season runs from May to October, making it the most popular time to visit Victoria Falls. During these months, you can expect clear skies, mild temperatures, and lower humidity. Daytime temperatures typically range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F), perfect for outdoor activities. Water Levels: By May, the water levels begin to drop from the peak flow experienced in April. This means that while the falls are still impressive, they are not at their fullest. However, as October approaches, the water levels continue to decrease, providing unique opportunities for activities like white-water rafting and walking along the edge of the falls. Activities: This is also the best time for wildlife viewing in nearby national parks. With drier conditions, animals tend to congregate around water sources, making safaris particularly rewarding. If you're after thrilling adventures amidst stunning views and pleasant weather, plan your visit between May and October. #greatestafrica #luxurysafari #luxuryafrica #visitsouthafrica #safariholiday #africansafari #dreamholiday #LuxuryAfricanEscape #ExclusiveSafariAdventures #GreatestAfricaJourneys #HoneymoonInAfrica #SafariLuxuryExperience #TailorMadeAfrica #BucketListAfrica #DreamSafariAdventure #UnforgettableAfrica

Speedy melting of #glaciers caused by #heatwave and intermittent rains in different areas of #GilgitBaltistan triggered flash #floods in streams, nullahs and rivers, sweeping away a wooden bridge, damaging another, blocking roads and stranding local and foreign tourists in different areas of the region. Flash floods also damaged crops, agriculture land, uprooted trees and disconnected several villages from other GB areas. Officials of the local administration said a flash flood swept away a wooden bridge linking Finna village with other areas. Another concrete bridge was damaged extensively by the flood water, making it unusable for the people. https://lnkd.in/d6BCF4aN #tourism #Tourisminsights #pakistan #tourismindustry #AtharJ #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #tourismmarketing #60seconds

Spots of sea surface pollution of an unknown substance about 38 km from Haifa and an area of about 100 square kilometers (almost twice the area of the city of Haifa). The long straight geometric forms of the spots point on the #anthropogenic source, most likely during the movement. The spot was observed on 08.06.2024 around 8:30 am in the #Sentinel2 image (link to the image in the first comment) thanks to Sentinel Hub. It is not clear what happened to these pollution spots. Was anyone at sea able to report what you saw? Maybe there are pollution landing on the beaches? #OilSpill #oilpollution #RemoteSensing #earthobservation #OceanHealth #tourism
