We had the pleasure of hosting the Start Small Dream Big Partner Tea Session for 2025 at Lewin Terrace. During the event, we shared our experiences working with selected preschool centres on projects related to our special exhibition, Into The Hawkerverse. Partners also enjoyed a tour of our museum, gaining insights into our immersive and engaging exhibitions. It was a fulfilling day of networking with like-minded individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on children and our community!

If you’ve ever read my book, "Museums as Agents of Change," or have worked with me before as a colleague or client, you’ll know how much I value community-centered practices as a key part of being effective in our organizations. I'm excited to share that two weeks from today, on April 10, I'll be kicking off my first ever Spring Intensive focusing on Community-Centered Engagement! The Spring Intensive for Community-Centered Engagement is a 3-part online workshop where we will dive deeper into key aspects of community involvement, community partnerships, and audience engagement strategies for organizations. Some of the things we'll be exploring include: - working on defining what "community" means to your work and your organization - learning about an asset-based approach to community engagement - examining different models of community involvement and co-creation - engaging in group working sessions geared towards applying strategies - developing a set of actions for your organization One of my goals for this Spring Intensive is to create an intimate online community, so I've capped the registration at around 20. But I still have a few spaces available and, honestly, I would really love to have this inaugural workshop filled! I've added a link below to the workshop registration page. And please don't hesitate to message me or email at murawski27@gmail.com if you have any questions! https://lnkd.in/gJ-tQg5b

Daily dose of Optimism: As Peter Ducker said, "The best way to create the future is to build the future". At The Earthshot Prize, we believe in the power of creativity and innovation to create the future. We believe in people around the world reclaiming agency over their future and fixing the world, one solution at a time. We believe in the game-changers, the change-makers, the creators, the builders, the dreamers and the do-ers. Because of them, we wake up daily with optimism about the future they're creating for all of us. We also wake up each day with a renewed sense of urgency. Time is ticking and history is being written. We must all go faster, bigger, braver and bolder. This is our singular call to action to those with influence and capital: Speed solutions to scale. Because the innovators can create the future, but together, we need to speed the future towards us faster than ever before. And that is a collective endeavour requiring more courage and collaboration than ever before. Thank you to our incredible Founding Partners Bloomberg Philanthropies for hosting and convening courageous conversations with incredible people. Thank you to everyone who has said yes to joining us on the 24th. Together we are a movement for change and action.
Can't wait to hear from these incredible speakers at the #EarthshotInnovationSummit taking place on September 24th in New York City 🗽✨ https://lnkd.in/eZaB3MDG

#Museums are increasingly being called upon to tackle contentious issues that threaten to erode #trust between leaders and staff. In a new project supported by the Innovation Resource Center for Human Resources, we’re working with the Association of Science and Technology Centers and the Association of Children's Museums to develop strategies for building, maintaining, and repairing trust when these issues enter the workplace. https://lnkd.in/gTWbRmya

What may be most surprising about IDSVA is the strong sense of community, despite the fact that IDSVA is largely a distance-learning program. The intensive residencies are designed to enhance a sense of communal belonging among members of a cohort and their faculty. The shared meals, museum visits, and travels together forge a bond that carries over into the virtual seminars and discussions of the online semesters. At the start of 2024, the Voices of Tomorrow project was still an ambitious idea to give youth a voice through the creative arts. Now, as we approach the end of year, we have launched the first virtual showcase on THE 4TH DIMENSION https://lnkd.in/ed3p2Thw and the project has evolved into a thriving network of 25 ambassadors from across the globe. These passionate individuals have come together to amplify the importance of young voices, each contributing their unique perspectives and talents to make a lasting impact. This network was built from the ground up, a testament to the power of the vision and collaboration, and the need for young people to have a place to express their ideas authentically. Over the past year, ambassadors have led initiatives in their communities, hosted conversations about youth’s future vision, and brought creativity to the Voices of Tomorrow project. None of this would have been possible without the hard work, resourcefulness and creativity of the Curriculum for Life team led by Oli Williams, the Youth Core Circle led by Raven Frias and now Nikolett Kerekes, and my colleagues in THE 4TH DIMENSION Tom Dale and Mark Tabbron (formerly Dodsworth), and our sponsors Alison James at BIC Foundation and Ormiston Academies Trust. The great thing about projects like this is the way in which they find their shape and form not in a set of rigid ideas, (although a good framework helps!) but through the contributions of everyone involved. It can be scary when projects take on a life of their own, but it can also be exhilarating. The process hasn’t been without its challenges. Different time zones and cultural contexts require patience and adaptability, and there is always more that we want to do. But the outcome speaks for itself. We are creating a community that shares a common vision to give youth a voice and thrives on creative thinking, resourcefulness and determination. What’s most inspiring is how this initiative has provided a vehicle for action. Ambassadors, artists, volunteers, sponsors and people spreading the word aren’t just talking about change, they’re driving it, empowering young people to speak up and influence the future. And this is just the start. It is our ambition to have submissions from every single country in the world. https://lnkd.in/ecwK3TvU #VoicesOfTomorrow #GlobalChangeMakers #YouthEmpowerment #ValuesInAction #values

In the spirit of “sharpening the saw”, I participated in a Design Thinking DC field session for the National Museum of American History this week. Question: How might we create a more inviting and engaging Constitution Ave entrance? So great to flex my DT muscles IRL with creative designers! #designthinking #smithsonian #creativity #brainstorming #prototyping
What a thrill for our DT:DC community to partner with the amazing Mike Denison, Head of Design for the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of American History, to reimagine the Constitution Avenue entrance of the museum to make it a more inviting, connected, and inclusive public space. A big thank you to our brilliant workshop leaders, Evan Chan and Fabiola Alvarez Yurcisin who spent hours preparing an insightful and inspiring experience and to Caitlin Anderson for managing all the details. The energy and creativity of the group was contagious. Here's a glimpse of what we achieved: 🔹 Fresh, innovative ideas to enhance the visitor experience 🔹 Collaborative designs that reflect the museum's rich heritage 🔹 A renewed sense of community and shared vision Finally, a huge shoutout to everyone who participated and contributed their unique perspectives. #DesignThinking #Innovation #MuseumDesign #Smithsonian #Collaboration #Creativity
