🌞 Taking Action for a Greener Future 🌍 At Lanz Group, sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we're proud to share a major milestone in reducing our carbon footprint: the installation of a 73.7 kWp Solar PV system! Commissioned in March 2023, this system was designed with a 50 kW inverter limit (as per the DNO) and an export capacity of 28 kW. Thanks to the efforts to optimize energy usage at our office—reducing annual consumption to around 52,590 kWh through improved building controls and LED upgrades—we're now forecasting solar production of 52,370 kWh this year! 🔋 What does this mean? 50% Self-consumed: Powering our operations directly. 50% Exported to the grid: Supporting renewable energy access at 0.15p/kWh. 💡 The numbers add up! The system will pay for itself in just 4.5 years. Over its lifetime, the energy will cost us only 4p/kWh, delivering years of savings while slashing emissions. A big shoutout to Chris Wilson and Andrew Cole at Power and Energy Fields Ltd for an exceptional install, managing SEG payments, additional sub-metering, and our annual service. Year of Action. Helen’s Annual Report 2023 including our Sustainability Report has been published, and we just had an internal briefing, too. 2023: We updated our strategy and continued to make significant investments in a sustainable energy system. ⚡️ The share of carbon neutral energy in our production rose to more than 50%. ⚡️ Our emissions fell by 38% and those of Helsinki by approximately 20%. ⚡️ The year 2023 saw significant progress in our #hydrogen business as the pilot plant project planned in Vuosaari moved on to the design phase. ⚡️ #SMR-based energy production also took a concrete step forward when we signed a related Letter of Intent. In the future, we will continue to replace coal-based electricity and heat production with diverse solutions: heat pumps, electric boilers and bioenergy. By 2025, 🔥 we will build more than 2,000 MW of electricity and heat capacity to replace fossil energy production. 🔥 the wind farms under construction will add almost 800 MW to our production capacity. 🔥 we continue our intensive investments to carbon neutrality. Our Szombathely solar setup is just one shining example of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. Across Europe and America, our sites now operate with 100% purchased carbon-free energy, and we're charging ahead in Asia with 75% renewable energy use. By 2030, we aim for CO₂-neutral production, and we're set on achieving climate neutrality across our entire value chain by 2050. An award ceremony held for the winners of the "Green Startup Projects Support Program" Within the framework of the program, 6 innovative and green projects were selected, and depending on the stage of the startup, grant funds from 20 million to 200 million soums were allocated for the following projects to stimulate them: - 200 million soums for the project "Samsara" wind generator based on renewable energy sources, adapted for installation on motorways, with a capacity of 1-5 kW; - 60 million soums for the project "Innovative local inverter production", which will be installed for the distribution and management of electricity generated by solar panels; - 60 million soums for the project "Clean Water" aimed at cleaning water bodies damaged by industrial wastewater with innovative plants; - 60 million soums for the project "Smart Panels" aimed at increasing the efficiency of solar panels by moving them around; - 0 million soums for the project "Wastewater Treatment", which allows for cleaning and recycling wastewater from industrial enterprises by using ion exchange glue; - 20 million soums for the project "Air Quality" to create a device to determine the amount of harmful particles in the air, the volume and composition of greenhouse gases, and air humidity. https://lnkd.in/eZzPZJpH #green #greeneconomy

Another important step in our sustainability strategy. In order to reduce our carbon footprint, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to the base year 2019. With the installed photovoltaic system we will save approximately 300 tons of CO2 every year by producing 2,100 MWh of green electricity.

🇦🇹 Country Deep Dive Austria: At CWS Hygiene Österreich, we’re making significant progress towards sustainability, focusing on renewable energy and reducing our carbon footprint across the country. 🔋 Focus on renewable energy in Vienna Our Austrian headquarters in Vienna aims to no longer emit any climate-damaging gases by 2025 – and we're well on our way. In 2023, we installed photovoltaic systems, reducing carbon emissions by 30.7 tonnes and generating 21 MWh of green electricity. Switching from gas to district heating further cut emissions by 56.5%. ♻️ ☀️ Solar power in Čakovec In April 2023, we installed a 375,000 kWh photovoltaic system at our Čakovec laundry, which serves customers in Austria and Central Eastern Europe.
