Chances are that cancer has touched you, your family, or friends. Cancer is the #2 killer behind heart disease and it’s on the rise…big time! Significant progress has been made thanks to organizations like the Dana-Farber Cancder Institute to find more cures and better treatments. Millions of lives have been saved or extended as a result. Cancer can take many forms. Some more deadly than others. Have you or your loved ones been impacted by this horrible disease? What are you doing about it? You will likely be surprised to hear that The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) is the third largest fund raising event in the world. It’s a 2-day bike-a-thon that has raised a whopping $1 billion since the 1980. One-hundred percent of all donated funds go directly to finding cures and better treatments for cancer. Over the past three months, I have ridden close to 1,000 miles and raised over $28K to make an impact. Tomorrow we ride in what is expected to be a hot and humid two days. 6,500 riders will be getting up at 4:30am sleeping on floors and in tents, eating energy bars, hydrating with electrolyte drinks, being cheered on by thousands including living legacy survivors, and supported by an army of volunteers. Today, instead of sending unsolicited messages or LinkedIn connection invites to business prospects you don’t know, consider making a tax deductible donation to support the PMC. https://lnkd.in/eHhgzwfh

Day 10 of the #50Families50Days Campaign $1,572 Legacy video for Marine with Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer Marine MSgt Sam Brody had Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer. His disease had progressed, and his prognosis was poor. He had been removed from a clinical trial due to a new tumor, making this the second trial he had become ineligible for because of disease progression. The opinion was that any new treatment would only slow down the progression, not cure the disease. The doctors were trying to find another trial he could be eligible for, but in the meantime, he was placed back on chemotherapy to hopefully slow the progression. RSM and his wife wanted to create a legacy video for their two children to remember their father. Despite having lost 20 pounds in four weeks, RSM still looked healthy but was concerned he would look far worse once he started chemotherapy. It was a very urgent request, as he wanted to complete the video before his health declined further. Requested Amount that TD Foundation provided immediate and direct assistance for: $1,572 To hear more amazing stories of impact from the TD Foundation, please follow along on our social media accounts. I believe that words must always align with actions. It’s not enough to promote initiatives like Breast Cancer Awareness Month without taking meaningful steps to support them. 🎗 As a proud member of a women-led company, this October, we decided we are not just going pink—we’re taking action. We’re partnering with Phenomenally Pink to raise funds for their work. Every purchase helps us contribute to this vital cause! Breast cancer has been the most common cancer affecting women in Hong Kong since 1994, with about 15 women diagnosed every day. These statistics are more than just numbers; they represent lives, families, and communities deeply affected by this disease. Early detection is crucial. I urge everyone to prioritize regular check-ups, whether it’s scheduling a mammogram or encouraging a loved one to do the same. Taking action today can save lives. Let’s make this campaign one of hope, strength, and resilience. While life presents unexpected challenges, we can choose how we respond. It is all in our attitude!
We Are Going Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness! 🌸 This October, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Phenomenally Pink, a local organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer initiatives. Together, we’re raising awareness and contributing to a brighter future for those affected by this disease. 🎗 For every 10-Box of our delicious snacks purchased, we will donate 10 HKD to support Phenomenally Pink's work. Life can present unexpected challenges, but we can change how we approach them. This month, let’s spread a message of hope, strength, and resilience. Together, We Can Make a Difference! #BreastCancerAwareness #PhenomenallyPink #Hope #Community #MakeADifference

#Leukaemia is the most common form of #ChildhoodCancer and the second greatest cause of cancer deaths in children. 💔 Those children who do survive, often experience life-long side effects from the highly toxic treatments used to treat the disease. We need better, safer cancer treatments for children. 🔬 Two remarkable teenagers, Tianna and Raya, fought and beat leukaemia, and are now determined to pursue a career in healthcare. They recently took part in work experience with Dr Catherine Carmichael, one of our childhood cancer researchers looking for new and improved treatments. Change for childhood cancer starts here at @Hudson_Research. ❤️🔥 Support our life saving research now. #Donate before 31 December, or read more about our research here: https://bit.ly/3AOTp76

Did you know? Over 1 million Americans have Lynch syndrome, but 95% are unaware! This means they do not know their need to begin screenings at an earlier age and assemble their medical team to ensure they remain previvors. Since launching in 2022, Project Conquer has helped previvors of Lynch syndrome know their genetic mutation to help reduce the their risk of cancer. This #NTXGivingDay2024, both your donation and your advocacy can make a difference! Help us reach those 95% and empower them to conquer cancer before it starts. #NTXShareYourCare by helping to spread awareness of a condition that is still unknown to many, despite how common it is. https://lnkd.in/g98fbG7s

Did you know that the risk for breast cancer dramatically increases for women between their 30's and 40's? For women in their 30's, there is a 1 in 304 chance of developing breast cancer in their 40's; in their next 10 years. This chance drops (worsens) significantly to 1 in 50 for those women in their 40's as they move into their 50's over their next 10 years. Today (23 May) is the official Pink Ribbon Breakfast day where there are events held all around New Zealand providing the opportunity to get together and raise vital funds for breast cancer education, research and patient support. The mental impact of a breast cancer diagnosis is extremely hard to quantify and this challenge isn't just for the person diagnosed. It can be for their those close to them. While dealing with the mental side of this diagnosis is something I may not be able to assist with directly, I can help to provide solutions to assist with the financial impact. This could be through a lump sum trauma payment following diagnosis, a monthly amount from income protection to supplement your income while you are off work or even treatments through private medical insurance. My ask of you today? 1. Donate to this great event and cause if you can spare a few dollars - https://lnkd.in/gps2yrhM 2. Make sure that you and those around you have sort advice from me on how you can protect the negative financial impact this could have if you or loved ones received a diagnosis like this. #PinkRibbonBreakfastNZ #resure #insurance #kiwisaver #aboveandbeyondadvice
