What's the difference between a RotorHook™ up-tower crane system and a GenHook™ up-tower crane system? This video shows both types, starting with a RotorHook™ crane, followed by a GenHook™ crane. RotorHook™ cranes are used when the entire rotor needs to be temporarily removed from the nacelle. Accordingly, these cranes are used for blade exchanges, pitch bearing exchanges, hub exchanges, and main shaft exchanges. RotorHook™ cranes can also be used for complete drivetrain exchanges, as they also have the ability to exchange the gearbox and generator, after the rotor and main shaft is removed from the nacelle. GenHook™ cranes are used for lifting smaller major components, including gearboxes, generator, and single blades. These videos were captured this week at LiftWerx projects across North America.

We recently collaborated with Fugro, an engineering company who conduct geographical surveys and technical investigations. Where traditional, metal components were no longer meeting Fugro's requirements, they decided to choose Tufcot® composite materials as a durable, non-corrosive solution that could withstand harsh environments. KG. This guideline fills a critical gap by providing clear, step-by-step procedures and assessments, particularly for unique cargo shapes that previously lacked specific guidance. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲? The “Guidance on Stability of Lifts” offers a systematic, flowchart-based approach to planning and evaluating the stability of rigging arrangements. It reflects real-world workflows used by participating companies and provides detailed methods to safer heavy lifting operations. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱: · Comparing and applying key stability assessment methods like Virtual CoG, Kaps and numerical computer simulations in combination with; · factors like wind force, crane movement, CoG shift and friction at lifting points for precise planning.
