This morning, ISEG attended the "Paving The Way To The Pact of The Future" conference, an essential initiative of the SDSN Portugal launched in June 2023. The unveiling of the Sustainable Development Report 2024 shed a sobering light on our current trajectory towards the SDGs, clearly indicating that we are off track. Today's event featured insightful panel discussions, starting with "Challenges to a Safe and Sustainable Future, why are we far from reaching the Goals?" setting the stage by addressing the critical hurdles we face and exploring the depth of the challenges that impede our progress toward sustainable development. A critical highlight was the Launch of the SDR 2024. During this session, Prof. Sachs presented the Sustainable Development Report 2024, discussed its main findings, and underscored the necessary paths we must pursue to achieve the SDGs. He emphasized that "the goals are ambitious, they are the only viable way forward for the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations." We must act now to get back on track and achieve the SDGs. #SDGreport2024 #ISEGSustainability #SDG #GlobalGoals #ISEG #Actnow

Buy Local First. Support Malaysian MSMEs. Supporting local MSMEs is beneficial for several reasons: > Boosting the Local Economy : Contribute directly to the economic health of your community. These businesses often source goods and services locally, which creates a multiplier effect on the economy. Money spent at local MSMEs tends to stay within the community, supporting other local businesses, suppliers, and service providers. > Preserving Local Culture and Identity: Local MSMEs often specialize in products and services that reflect the unique culture, heritage, and identity of their region. Help preserve these cultural aspects that contribute to the distinctiveness and charm of your community, by supporting these MSMEs. Traditional crafts, local cuisine, or unique art forms that may not be found elsewhere, but Malaysia. > Environmental Impact: They typically have a smaller carbon footprint as compared to larger corporations that operate on a global scale. Often use fewer resources in transportation and production, they contribute less to environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Supporting local MSMEs can align with sustainable practices and efforts to reduce environmental impact. In summary, supporting local MSMEs not only strengthens the local economy but also helps preserve cultural heritage and reduce environmental footprint, making it a socially responsible choice for consumers and communities alike. Happy International MSME Day! ❤️ #smecorpmalaysia #rakanpks #supportMyMSME #supportlocal
