Exciting conversations at the Doing Research in Indian Country conference! 🌟 During the panel discussion "AI, Cybersecurity, and Impact on Data Sovereignty," Professor Trevor Reed joined a powerhouse lineup of experts, including: Tyson Winarski, ASU Law Intellectual Property Professor and Patent Attorney, RJ Huskey, President & vCISO of HOZHO Cybersecurity LLC, Gerty Tsinnie, CEO of 917 Solutions, Agnes Attakai, Director of the Circle of Indigenous Empowerment Held on ASU’s Tempe campus this week, the panel highlighted critical topics at the intersection of technology, culture and sovereignty. Professor Reed shared insights on a paper “AI and Cultural Data.” This thought-provoking session showcased the importance of collaboration in navigating the challenges and opportunities of emerging technologies for Indigenous communities.

Our paper on 'Robustness and Cybersecurity in the EU AI Act', co-authored with Michèle Finck and Miriam Rateike, has been accepted to #NeurIPS 2024 (Regulatable ML Workshop) in Vancouver! 🚀 This comes after its acceptance to the Internatioal Conference on Machine Learning (#ICML 2024) in Vienna this summer (GenLaw Workshop), and we couldn't be more excited to have our work featured at two of the world’s most prestigious AI research conferences! 💡 Our research seeks to bridge the gap between legal requirements and technical implementation in the realms of cybersecurity and robustness for AI systems. We assess potential challenges in implementing the relevant provisions in light of recent advancements in the ML literature. Moreover, our analysis informs efforts to develop harmonized standards as well as benchmarks and measurement methodologies. We are looking forward to sharing and discussing our findings in Vancouver! 🇨🇦

Hello, Everyone 🌟 I'm thrilled to share a recent personal project where I fine-tuned an AI model with extensive cybersecurity knowledge using Llama-3 model and Unsloth libraries. Initially, the model I fine-tuned was restricted and wouldn’t address questions about vulnerabilities. So, I moved to an uncensored model which was cognitivecomputations/dolphin-2.9-llama3-8b, and utilized a variety of advanced and basic cybersecurity datasets for fine-tuning. I then explored running this model locally without internet dependency, similar to how models run on Ollama.
