Earlier this month, Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza opened Europe's first flaghsip urban biorefinery, in the context of the EU-funded CIRCULAR BIOCARBON project. Mayor of Zaragoza Natalia Chueca noted that the biorefinery will allow Zaragoza to turn solid waste and sewadge sludge into end products, highlighting that this will create social, environmental and economic benefits for the city and the region. https://lnkd.in/ebmTagPR As one of the cities selected to participate in NetZeroCitiesEU, the EU's mission that has selected 112 European cities to reach climate-neutrality by 2030, Zaragoza is commited to become a pioneering sustainable city in Europe. As the mayor mentioned, the circular economy is key to these efforts.
