🤔 What impact will the Paris 2024 Olympics 🏅 have on the European aviation network ✈️? With less than 2 months to go before the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games 🏅 begin on 26 July, our latest EUROCONTROL Aviation Trends 📄 looks at how the EUROCONTROL #NM Network Manager has been working closely with DSNA & neighbouring #ANSPs air navigation service providers to assist, forecast, plan & coordinate actions to ensure smooth & efficient operations across the European aviation network ✈️ during the games. 👉 Meticulous preparations are part of NM's standard approach to managing special events to minimise their impact on the network, particularly major sporting finals or competitions that classically trigger the need for additional flights or airspace restrictions. For the Olympics, this has required actions: 🏅 at strategic level, with cooperation starting at the end of summer 2023 involving regular exchanges & meetings on the updated traffic outlook, updated capacity situation, an evaluation of the number of flights ✈️ that have to be cancelled or rescheduled on the opening ceremony day, as well as network measures and scenarios 🏅 at tactical level, standard coordination will be in effect with specific teleconferences hosted throughout the period for emerging tactical situations (e.g. actual traffic situations different to those planned, significant weather events ⛈️, etc.). We will also be hosting DSNA experts in our #NMOC Network Manager Operations Centre, and planning is underway to position colleagues from neighbouring ANSPs inside the NMOC for key periods, such as the days around the opening. The V10 is the most pleasing for several technical reasons: V10 has an almost perfect major 3rd interval in it, or the 'happy' sounding chord, very appealing to the human ear. The firing of the 10 cylinders is also well spaced so that the human ear cannot detect "gaps" like in the 6 or 8 cylinder... so it has much to do with Neuroscience than engineering! #F1 #engines #neuroscience
