Excited to share that I'm officially partnering with the Sustainable Packaging Summit 2024 in Amsterdam on November 12th-13th. It's an event that's been on my radar for ages, and I'm thrilled dates finally align for me to attend this year. What makes the event special is its action-oriented focus. From meaningful dialogues to innovative solutions, it's all about driving impact. A summit, not a conference—where every attendee is an active participant. And it’s not just about talking the talk when it comes to sustainability either—it's about rolling up sleeves and making real changes in the packaging industry. Really excited about the line up of speakers, each an industry leader in their respective fields: David Katz: Founder of Plastic Bank, leading the way forward with groundbreaking solutions to combat plastic waste and uplift communities. Francesca Siciliano Stevens: Director General of EUROPEN, spearheading efforts to shape policies for a more circular economy in Europe. Jodie Roussell: Offering practical insights from Nestlé on how global brands are tackling packaging challenges head-on. Raffi Schieir: Founder of Prevented Ocean Plastic, passionately dedicated to confronting one of our planet's most pressing environmental threats. Surendra Patawari and Vikas Chhajer: Leaders at Gemini Corporation, revolutionising waste management by turning it into valuable resources through recycling. Willemijn Peeters: CEO of Searious Business, leading the way forward by promoting circular solutions and sustainable innovations across industries. Paving the way for a circular future: WEPA Bridgend hosts WRAP for sustainable innovation 🌍 Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Costa Athanatos from Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) to our WEPA site in Bridgend. WRAP is doing incredible work, working with the Welsh Government and local manufacturers to drive forward sustainability and climate action. It's inspiring to see how closely our values align - we both believe that the only way forward is to create a circular system where sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. During the visit, we took Costa on a tour in our Bridgend mill, where we're already incorporating recycled fibres into our tissue paper. It was great to show how these materials are making a real difference in the move towards more sustainable products. We had some very insightful discussions with our WEPA UK LIMITED team, about how we can build on these efforts and how WRAP's expertise can help us improve our practices even further. As WEPA we are fully committed to ambitious sustainability goals, that our sales products contain at least 60% recycled and alternative fibers by 2030. Achieving this requires working #together with strong partners, and our work with WRAP is a significant step forward. Together, we are not just talking about sustainability - we are actively shaping a future where responsible production meets consumer needs while protecting the environment. This visit reflects our ongoing efforts to lead the consumer sector with responsible, evidence-based solutions. By embracing a circular economy, we're ensuring that our products not only meet the highest standards of hygiene and well-being, but also contribute to a healthier, more sustainable world. #WeareWEPA #Togetherforabetterlife #Sustainability
