When I saw this chart, it reminded me of the presentations at the Zeiss Quality Innovation Summit. One presentation from a Chinese company stuck in my mind. When I saw it, I realized that we, the European industry, are unnecessary in the production process of a well-organized, innovative Chinese industry. 💡Can you propose a #Smartsolution for 100% Sorting operation in mass production products to ARaymond? 🔊 The challenge we are facing at this moment is the search of a #smartsolution to check 100% of our products, both dimensional and visual aspect characteristics, to provide our customer with a higher quality level and facilitate the use of our products in their automated lines. As our process is based in #massproduction (plastic molding injection and metal bending/stamping) products are not treated individually and here is where the challenge is, how to check products by implementing 100% #sorting activity in fast and mass production with a very contained cost, flexible concept and easy to implement for several products. We have some experience with #camera control #inspection and #automated #feedingsystems. Event report in Mikroniek: Clean Event and Manufacturing Technology Conference In mid-April 2024, the second edition of the Manufacturing Technology Conference and the fifth edition of the Clean Event were held together, for the first time, at the Koningshof in Veldhoven (NL). Currently, developing a high-quality product involves ever more requirements, complex steps and challenges during the production process, ranging from determining the most suitable manufacturing technique to complying with cleanliness requirements. In order to offer companies better insight into and control over these challenges, the two events joined forces. This Mikroniek article gives a report, including presentations from Stefano Sgobba (CERN), Steffijn de Koning (ASML) and other experts active in and for the hightech industry, including the field of #additivemanufacturing. The annual #CleanEvent, organised by Mikrocentrum, focuses on the control of #cleanliness and #contamination through the entire #manufacturing process, smart product design that facilitates cleanliness, and mitigation of contamination risks during the assembly and packaging processes. This year, the fifth edition featured 70 exhibitors and attracted some 800 visitors. This year’s PACK EXPO was a fantastic opportunity to dive into some of the latest advancements pushing our industry forward. With 2,600 exhibitors, the expo provided a close look at innovations aimed at keeping us competitive and tackling our most complex challenges.   I had a chance to chat with Lisa McTigue Pierce of Packaging Digest (with John Henry and Meaghan Ziemba) about what I learned regarding mono-material recyclable films, which typically run slower. I discussed how major film companies are developing multi-layer mono structure films that offer manufacturing increased tolerances to run better on the equipment. These innovations help create faster seals and prevent issues like film distortion when lines shut down. Techniques like adding Teflon tape to heat seal jaws or using an air jet for cooling are helping these films match the performance of multi-layer structures, bringing us closer to sustainable packaging solutions.   Attending #PackExpo2024 was a reminder of just how much our industry is evolving.
