Your gift this holiday transforms young lives by providing critical resources and support to students in Charlotte's Title I (high-poverty) schools. The more students succeed, the stronger our communities become. YOU are empowering students to thrive and build brighter futures with your gift! And for a donation of just $15 (or more), we'll send this adorable card with artwork by a CIS student in honor/memory of friends and family. But don't delay—Make a gift by Dec. 12 if you wish to send cards, to ensure timely holiday delivery. https://lnkd.in/e3zp8kr4 #GivingSeasonCLT

Right now, 35 of our students are not in school. They’re waiting eagerly until there’s enough funding for them to return to the classroom. While they wait, they face unimaginable challenges. Surrounded by violence and uncertainty, they hold onto one dream: finishing school, learning a trade, and rebuilding their communities. They’re ready to create brighter tomorrows today—but they can’t do it alone. Here’s how you can help: It only takes $1.50 a day ($564/year) to cover a student’s tuition. Every dollar gives them the tools they need to overcome their struggles and build a better future. And this Giving Tuesday, your generosity goes TWICE as far. Thanks to a $10,000 matching gift, every donation will be doubled! Together, we can fill those empty classroom desks and help these students achieve their dreams. Please, donate here: https://lnkd.in/ecZkFCNF Let’s end the wait. Will you join us? #GivingTuesday #EndTheWait #EducationForAll #KidsConnectionHaiti #Haiti

What is the role of schools? Is it simply to educate, prepare students for exams, and ensure university placements? At AIS, we believe it’s so much more. Schools should inspire students to be compassionate global citizens, approach the world with curiosity, and ask themselves, How can I make a difference? As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” True education doesn’t just teach—it nurtures values, builds character, and empowers students to contribute meaningfully to society. Working with Barbara Lee and her incredible mission at Child at Street 11 Ltd has been a humbling reminder of the transformative power of education. Barbara’s dedication to giving every child an opportunity to thrive and break the cycle of disadvantage is awe-inspiring. Seeing this aligns deeply with what we strive for at AIS: fostering an education that nurtures Respect, Opportunity, and Achievement for every child. A special thank you to Trent Green for leading this initiative, Farhana Suhaimi for quickly pulling together a powerful video, and our amazing Elementary School student leaders for embodying our core values: Respect: Celebrating diversity and the unique potential of every child. Opportunity: Offering avenues for growth and supporting communities through meaningful actions. Achievement: Making a tangible impact through compassion and leadership. As I witness the incredible work of our AIS teachers, I can only hope that the children at Child at Street 11 receive the same opportunity for an education that sets them on the right path. Charity begins at home, but its ripple effects can reach far beyond. Together, we can make a difference. 🌍 #EducationForChange #GlobalCitizens #AISRespectOpportunityAchievement
At AIS Elementary, we’re excited to support Child at Street 11, a wonderful organisation nurturing children from all backgrounds, through our Festive Arts & Craft Donation Drive. With our 4 houses (Lachlan, Murray, Fitzroy and Derwent), our students can each pick an item to purchase from our Festive Giving Wishlist, wrap it with care, and bring it to your classroom’s collection box. Together, let’s bring joy and spark creativity with every gift of art supplies we collect! 🗓️ When: November 11 - December 5 Let’s spread festive cheer and support the children at Child at Street 11 this holiday season! #WeAreAIS #AustralianInternationalSchool #FestiveGiving #StudentLeaders

Join the Global Movement of Giving This Giving Tuesday! Did you know that Giving Tuesday is a global movement of generosity that started in 2012 as a simple idea—encouraging people to do good? What began as a call to action for one day has now evolved into a worldwide celebration of kindness, inspiring us all to give, collaborate, and make a difference every day of the year. Think of the countless lives we could touch, helping more students unlock their potential through the life-changing GEMS program. With your support, we can extend our reach and empower more young minds with the tools to build a brighter future. Currently, the GEMS program is in 3 school districts. But we need you to help us do more. Every donation, no matter the size, has a profound impact. With your contribution, we can reach more school districts, touch more lives, and give even more children the opportunity to thrive. We are driven by a mission to create a sustainable solution that positively impacts vulnerable children, their families, and their communities. Middle school is a critical time—children at this stage are at higher risk of falling through the cracks, facing struggles with mental health, dropping out of school, or becoming involved in the criminal justice system. We are committed to guiding these students toward a future filled with hope, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. Please consider making a donation today to help us secure a future filled with hope and possibility for these deserving children. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your commitment to making the world a better place. Together, we can change lives—one child at a time. Together, we can make a lasting difference. https://lnkd.in/geSe29hi

East Bay Children's Book Project (EBCBP) - Holiday Donation Do you have children's and teen books to pass on? The mission of East Bay Children's Book Project (EBCBP) is to help build literacy by putting books into the hands of children who have little or no access to them. Working through individuals and organizations who help children in need, the organization has given out more than two million free books since opening their doors in May 2005. What: new and gently used children’s books, including board books through high school books. Books should be clean with no marks or stains. No textbooks, religious books, encyclopedias, magazines, adult books, or library discards. Monetary donations can be accepted by mail at 2501 Harrison St., Oakland, CA 94612 or online at https://lnkd.in/gyn-rHCW When/Where: - Turkey Trot bib pick up on Wed Nov 27 3-6pm at Veterans' Hall, - Piedmont Middle School library in the EBCBP box during school hours 8:40-2:40 - EBCBP, 2501 Harrison St., Oakland (across from Whole Foods) Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm and 1st Sat of month (Dec 7). Look for the purple door facing Harrison St at the "Keep Clear" area of road. Why: Too many children in the Bay Area live in homes without books, and attend schools and programs where books are in short supply. Encouraging reading is not enough when families and schools do not have books. Books are given directly to children in need by teachers, social workers, health care professionals, community outreach groups, housing authority employees, and police officers. Some are used by schools, daycare and community centers, homeless shelters, and hospitals to create libraries at their sites.

Double Up! Double Up! Double Up! If you could make a $20 gift that doubled to $40 to help families have resources they needed to get back on track, would you do it? If you could make a $42 gift that doubled to $84 to help youth in programs like in-school counseling and career and college exploration workshops, would you do it? If you could make a gift of $125 that doubled to $250 to help youth have a safe place to sleep, would you do it? If you answered yes to any of the above, now’s your time to do it. When you make a gift through the Louis and Gloria Philanthropic Trust, your gift doubles. See how here: sccfl.org/double-up

Why am I raising money to donate books? Imagine a world where your zip code determines your access to stories, knowledge, and dreams. A staggering 82% of CPS elementary schools lack a functioning library, a basic necessity we often take for granted. The disparity grows as we learn that libraries exist in only 10% of primarily Black schools and 21% in Latinx schools. Now, picture a child's home. In 61% of low-income families, not a single age-appropriate book graces their shelves. Yet, studies show that children growing up in homes with at least twenty books gain an additional three years of schooling compared to their peers from bookless environments. Books are more than just paper and ink. They are windows to new worlds, bridges to immense possibilities, and the keys to unlocking untapped potential. Join me in turning the page on educational inequality. Your donation to Working in the Schools (WITS) can light up countless lives, one book at a time.
