All everyone is talking about is the rain, right? A lot of effort goes into planning for the weather in outdoor events - you have to be prepared for four seasons in one day!   Here are some of the weather risks we have on our radar when planning an outdoor event:   🌪 HIGH WINDS - Identifying the maximum wind speeds for marquees and other structures, and planning where we'll take guests in the event of reaching those wind speeds. We like to have a plan B! ⚡ LIGHTNING - Where to shelter if there's lightning in the area. 🌧 RAIN - Ensuring we have shelter from the rain, and suitable hard surfaces for vehicles and pedestrians to move about. ❄ SNOW & ICE - Making sure roads are safe and accessible, and we have somewhere warm for staff and guests. 🌞 SUNSHINE - This isn't often a problem in Scotland, but we always have plenty water and sunscreen on our packing list just in case.   It's not glam, but it's so important to make sure all the risks and have been identified and mitigated. The BGE team recently refreshed our knowledge with an IOSH-approved training course on health and safety in events! After record-breaking attendance of nearly 1,900 attendees and 34 countries at the 2024 Annual Convention in Tampa, Florida, 2025 could be even bigger. 🏙️ Got news?
