🎄 Deck the Halls—Safely! 🎄 The holiday season is here, and it’s time to transform your home into a festive wonderland! But before you start hanging lights and ornaments, let’s talk safety. I want your celebrations to be full of joy—not unexpected trips to the ER. Keep these tips in mind: 🔧 Ladder Safety: Use ladders properly—place them on firm, level ground, and avoid climbing in bad weather. Make sure it’s tall enough to reach safely! ⚡ Electrical Safety: Inspect lights and cords for damage, don’t overload outlets, and keep decorations away from heat sources. If you’ve got a live tree, water it daily to prevent fires! The chaos of the holiday season means you likely aren’t thinking much about safety. But you should, if just for a moment. Here’s a checklist for you: ✔️ Use “the shake test” to see if your Christmas tree needs water. If needles fall, it’s dry. ✔️ Inspect all your holiday lights. Look for frayed/damaged wires ✔️ Only use outdoor and indoor lights as indicated ✔️ Don’t overload circuits, extension cords and sockets ✔️ Keep giftwrapped presents away from windows ✔️ Don’t leave boxes for big-ticket items on the curb. Put them in black trash bags and don’t run them out until garbage day ✔️ Turn off holiday lights and space heaters when away or asleep ✔️ Keep holiday plants away from pets ✔️ Maintain woodburning fireplaces & chimneys ✔️ Travel safely and don’t overshare on social media More holiday safety info available here: https://lnkd.in/gdX78vMr
