My debut article at Towards Data Science from last September - In this piece, I started exploring the rich open data portal of the Austrian government, focusing on any geospatial data they have on Vienna - and they have plenty! 📣 Calling all #data collectors 📣 Did you know that there are right 👍 and wrong 👎 ways to collect people-centred data? 💚 Land is at the heart of #Inclusive and #SustainableDevelopment. 🌱 When done correctly, people’s data can amplify the voices of those often absent in official statistics -- this truth rings clear. With our data expert Eva Hershaw , we pulled together the do's and don'ts to help you get started. 📊 #LANDex — a global land governance index — uses people-centred methodologies to monitor progress towards people-centred land governance across countries where International Land Coalition members operate, especially in relation to the #SDGs. 🙋♀️ In the hands of land users and citizens, #data can be a powerful tool that has the potential to shift power imbalances and hold governments and corporations accountable.
