I spent 4.5 years working at Microsoft. It was a great place for a fresh-outta-college grad to learn some structure and good engineering examples. However... It was also a stifling environment for me. They only saw me in one role, with little ability to influence product or business decisions. I craved more impact: on the product, on users, and on the world. ⤷ I felt like I wasn't fulfilling my true potential, because I was conforming to their role for me. So, I decided to take a leap of faith, quit, and eventually co-founded "Bang with Friends," which later became DOWN. Looking back now, it's been a rollercoaster ride: ➜ We struggled with fundraising in a landscape that felt like an impossible maze. ➜ We navigated legal hurdles that threatened to blow everything up. ➜ We faced app store bans that threw a giant wrench in our growth. But today: ✔ I’m more resilient, ✔ I'm more adaptable, ✔ And more confident. (about changing the world for the better, in my own little way) Looking back, I see that every setback was really just a setup for a comeback. It’s like they say, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. ⤷ Persistence, adaptability, and learning from setbacks—that’s what truly defines success.
