Bring on the Great Adventure! In the coming months, I will be establishing a base in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Singapore 🇸🇬 / Indonesia 🇮🇩 / Thailand / 🇹🇭 In this role, I will be developing international sales for NanoSci | Pure Air Through Photocatalysis air purification solutions, aimed at food preservation and the protection of humans against diseases and smog. Over the past year, I have been evaluating the best location to grow a startup in the #greentech, #cleantech, and #deeptech industries. It turns out that the garden city, with its renowned commitment to cleanliness, strong social awareness of "well-being," dedication to health, and robust capital infrastructure to finance innovations under the umbrella of #ecology and #sustainability – it's a match🤩. In a recent article for The Australian's Top 100 Innovators edition, our CEO Damian Kassabgi shared his vision for Australia's tech sector.   Damian highlighted the remarkable 18-fold increase in venture capital investment in our tech sector from 2014 to 2022. While we're catching up in early-stage funding, he emphasised the need to boost later-stage support to help our innovators scale globally.    However, to truly compete on the world stage, we need to step up our game in R&D investment. 👏Τhe EIC Soft-Landing Mission in Singapore was a huge success! Under the auspices of the European Innovation Council and Acclime, 11 #EUeic innovators had the chance to immerse into one of Asia’s most dynamic economies, equipping participants with invaluable insights into Singapore’s business ecosystem and pathways for expansion across Southeast Asia. They expanded their market knowledge and networking potential living a once-in-a-lifetime personal development experience. Sustainability was a key theme, with a session on Exploring Clean Tech Growth Opportunities in Southeast Asia, hosted by Tech Singapore Advocates and Singapore Management University. This event highlighted Singapore’s pivotal role in advancing Clean Tech innovations, supported by insights from leading experts like ACE.SG, Wavemaker Impact, Circle Capital, amongst others.   The delegation also had the unique opportunity to participate in the prestigious @Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2024. This event offered high-impact networking, pitching sessions, and insights into Singapore’s Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Programme. During the GIN: Bridging Partnerships with Eureka & EIC Mission, companies like @DAC, Ecopolplast , Plant-e, Nanotech Energy , and Terabee pitched their solutions, sparking potential collaborations with Singaporean businesses and investors.   Among the highlights was the SWITCH Global Tech Mixer, hosted at the National Gallery Singapore, which provided a vibrant networking platform. The mission concluded with site visits to JTC LaunchPad and Ecolabs, showcasing Singapore’s cutting-edge R&D in green building and sustainable urban development.   This successful mission exemplifies the EIC Soft-Landing Programme’s commitment to equipping European innovators with the tools and connections to thrive on the global stage.
