Why do so many organization run their own virtual firewalls in the cloud instead of using the native solution? efficacy and security, sure. but also it’s important to have the same level of operational readiness and observably in the cloud as you do with your on premises firewall devices. now add the migration to sase with firewalls as a service. it’s easy to see that the cloud vendors response is expected. these basic level firewalls are really just packet filters with rudimentary access control lists. thank you to CyberRatings.org for performing this ongoing testing and helping customers understand the limits of the cloud native “one stop shop”.
