Techtrust hosted our first event last night and it was a part of #NYTechWeek - Here's what I learned... 1. Be a part of a "week" or conference if you're a new brand: They market for you and get people who never have heard of you to sign up. I got 500+ requests for 35 seats for FREE. Our sales team and my emails were able to drive about 5. 2. Make the event a thumb stopper. We were competing against 700 other events as a part of #techweek this year. So why would they attend one from a company they don't know? I was giving them free steak and martini's at one of the 3 best steakhouses in NYC. People there told me the location is the only reason they wanted to come in the first place. Now they're potential clients. 3. Don't try to sell. Try to connect people. I had people there from sales, but their mission was to connect brands to VC's, get people to talk who are working on similar projects, etc. 📣 Give first, then ask. We did that and people are now responding to emails from us 👍 #eventmarketing #gtm #startup #servicestartup #techweek
We had a blast last night at the legendary Gallaghers Steakhouse! There were over 30 founders, VC's, Tech leads, and innovators from TECH WEEK by a16z sharing what AI projects they're working on, sharing ideas, and insights. Thank you to everyone who joined us and don't forget, we're meeting up monthly. 7moOnce, I was known for saying "thumbstopper" 5 times a day. I agree with your "give, then ask" advice!
