UK start-up Nyobolt showcased an electric car battery capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 4 minutes and 37 seconds. This impressive feat was achieved using a specially-designed concept sports car on a test track in Bedford, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to expedite electric vehicle (EV) charging times. Currently, a Tesla supercharger can achieve a similar 80% charge in 15-20 minutes, making Nyobolt's battery a potential game-changer in the industry. Paul Shearing, Professor of Sustainable Energy Engineering at Oxford University, emphasized the importance of such technological advancements, while also highlighting the need for an expanded and more diverse charging infrastructure.
