Roughly one in two Americans said they are not very or not at all exposed to #environmental and #climatechange risks. Those perceptions contrast sharply with empirical evidence showing that climate change is having an impact in nearly every corner of the United States.

America is not ready to lead the world in climate action. Very concerning. "Roughly one in two Americans said they are not very or not at all exposed to environmental and climate change risks. Those perceptions contrast sharply with empirical evidence showing that climate change is having an impact in nearly every corner of the United States... Americans also largely believe they do not bear responsibility for global environmental problems. Only about 15 percent of U.S. respondents said that high- and middle-income Americans share responsibility for climate change and natural destruction. Instead, they attribute the most blame to businesses and governments of wealthy countries." https://lnkd.in/gZ2h_vry

This! According to the survey, many Americans believe in the power of collective political efficacy—the idea that by working together, we can influence federal climate policies. We 100% agree! In fact, that’s what drives us! https://lnkd.in/gA_K9sWk As constituents, we have awesome power, but only if we speak up and demand action. It is extremely important to continue promoting climate justice. If we interrupt or fall behind schedule, we will pass on a larger debt to the next generation. However, only a few local governments are proactive in this effort. Most local governments are extremely reluctant to pay the current costs. This is also true for companies. In the meantime, the progress of global warming will not stop. Climate Week will be held in New York from tomorrow. Various adverse effects of abnormal weather will cause floods and sea level rise. In addition, the power generation from renewable energy that we are currently working on cannot be transmitted to the aging conventional power grid, which creates a situation where the electricity generated is not used efficiently. So what should we do? Assuming that government-led measures will definitely not be in time, I think that this is the stage where each individual should take appropriate action.

This support for Harris is a sign of a desire for change. The arrival of President Obama and now the nomination of Harris are a cry from people who have been discriminated against until now. Extreme weather caused by global warming is affecting poor people and countries. Companies that have ignored global warming and covered up their own wrongdoings, and politicians who have lined their pockets through fake lobbying activities, should step down immediately. I look forward to the emergence of politicians who will use the power of the class that demands change to build a new framework.
