Africa is currently faced with food insecurity that is worsened by climate change. Soil health is a critical aspect of agriculture that should be highly prioritised. After all, the land has to be healthy in order for it to adequately feed people. It is now more important than ever to invest in optimal soil health through capacitation programmes and other interventions such as data collection and research, which are both crucial in guiding policy improvement. Agriculture is the backbone of our societies - we need food to keep alive and not just any food, but fresh nutrient-dense organic food that is healthy (gives all the required nutrients and vitamins). Empowering farmers and all other agriculture stakeholders will go a long way towards bolstering Africa's agriculture sector. In this article I look at a noble intervention by AUD-NEPAD and Norway government (through its development agency NORAD), who have invested millions into Africa' soil health ventures. https://lnkd.in/d5CWpwaM #TheAfricaWeWant #ImpactfulMedia#AUMediaFellowship#Insightful
