We’re thrilled to share the second Irish Climate Tech Opportunity Report, created with SustainabilityWorks. This report highlights the incredible scale and diversity of Ireland’s Climate Tech ecosystem, featuring 22 leading companies making waves in the fight against climate change. Despite the progress, there’s still a gap in meeting our GHG emissions targets. Ireland has a strong potential in Climate Tech, but we need to bridge the gap between ambition and action. Key highlights: - Over 300 companies in Ireland’s Climate Tech sector are making a global impact. - Entrepreneurs are tackling local challenges and scaling solutions internationally. - Government and investment play crucial roles, but more support is needed. - Recognising Climate Tech as a distinct sector can drive economic growth and decarbonisation. A great report from Revolution on America's emerging climate tech hubs. Highlights that once overwhelmingly dominant, California’s share of climate tech funding has decreased significantly over the last five years as ecosystems across the country build momentum. Good to see Denver & Boulder Colorado ranked at the number two position in both deal value and deal count Revolution believes that America is more competitive when more people in more places are part of the innovation ecosystem. Accordingly, a more dispersed climate tech economy will lead to greater innovation and more ready adoption of climate solutions. Follow Innovate UK on the Latest Global Expert Mission on Climate Tech to California From 26 October to 2 November 2024, Innovate UK in partnership with UK Science and Innovation will travel to California to assess the Climate Tech landscape. This mission aims to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop programmes to support UK innovators working with Californian partners 🤝 The mission will explore key areas in climate technology, such as AI, nature-based solutions, and carbon capture, while establishing connections with leading stakeholders to foster sustainable innovation. It will also evaluate California's ecosystem for supporting climate tech businesses and research initiatives, allowing for greater UK-US collaboration in meeting global climate goals. The mission will also focus on deepening ties with innovation hubs in California, such as Silicon Valley and Los Angeles, to explore potential partnerships that address climate challenges through technology.
