10 October 2024 Every year, thousands of schools, companies and communities come together to make World Mental Health Day that little bit brighter by wearing something yellow and donating to YoungMinds. Right now, the world is a really tough place for children and young people to grow up in. This World Mental Health Day, wear yellow with thousands of others across the UK and raise money to show young people that they’re not alone with their mental health. Because we stand brighter, together #HelloYellow https://lnkd.in/eRAzNmwS

In the last three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50% 😟 Worrying insights from the Goodchild report 2022 by The Children's Society. As part of Children's Mental Health Week, we need to once again highlight these stats. We need to be doing more every day, but once again we need to use the opportunity across this week to raise our voices on this 📣 So with the theme this year being 'My Voice Matters' I am going to use the next 3 days this week to highlight 3 charities / organisations giving our young people the opportunity for their voice to be heard 💙 #mentalhealth #youngpeople #youngpeoplematter

24-miles. 14 hikers. 3 peaks. 1 long day. We’re raising money and awareness in the fight for better mental health by completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for MIND (local branch of Harrogate). So, while we climb high (5200 ft to be exact!) we’re asking you to dig deep and donate. 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, but most people don’t get the help they need. This has to change. That’s why Mind InHarrogate is fighting for mental health, making it an everyday priority. Your donation will help power MIND’s helplines. It will help write mental health information. And it lets Mind push the UK government to do more to help people with mental health problems. Hit the link in our bio to donate today - no matter the amount - so we can hit our target of £2,000 and help make a difference on a local level. #mind #mindcharity #mentalhealthawareness #threeyorkshirepeakschallenge #harrogateagency #charitywalk

Join Me in Supporting Mental Health at the NAMI Walk! I'm excited to share that I’ll be participating in the NAMI Walk to raise awareness and funds for mental health support, and I need your help! Mental health affects every one of us, whether directly or through a loved one, and it’s a cause close to my heart. Here’s why I’m asking you to support me: 1. Raise Awareness: Mental health is often stigmatized, and events like the NAMI Walk bring the conversation into the open. Together, we can fight the stigma and let people know they are not alone. 2. Support Vital Resources: Your contribution directly supports NAMI’s work, including advocacy, education, and resources for those struggling with mental illness. These programs provide a lifeline to individuals and families when they need it most. 3. Make a Real Impact: Every step we take and every dollar raised helps bring us closer to a world where mental health care is accessible, stigma is erased, and people can live in recovery. 4. Show Solidarity: Whether you’ve experienced mental health challenges personally or through someone close to you, walking together sends a powerful message of support and compassion for everyone affected. Please consider donating or joining me for the walk. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight for better mental health! #NAMIWalk #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma Urban Affairs Coalition

🚶♂️ Stepping Up for Children’s Mental Health: 310,000 Steps in July! 🚶♂️ I’m excited/nervous to announce that I’ve signed up for a charity challenge in July to support Place2Be an incredible organisation dedicated to improving children’s mental health. My goal is to complete 310,000 steps throughout the month. One in five children and young people now have a diagnosable mental health issue. That’s six children in every classroom with a condition like depression or anxiety. Place2Be is the UK’s leading school-based mental health charity, providing support to children, families, and school-based staff when they need it most. Every step I take will help raise awareness and funds for this essential cause. I’ll be tracking my progress and sharing updates along the way. Your encouragement and support would mean the world to me and the children benefiting from Place2Be’s services. Please help me support Place2Be’s vital work, and together we can make a real difference to children’s mental health and ensure that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone. If you’d like to support this cause, no matter how small, please consider donating through my JustGiving page linked below. Please share this post to help spread the word! If you would like to learn more about Place2Be, please visit Place2Be - www.place2be.org.uk Together, we can make a difference! #CharityChallenge #Place2Be #MentalHealth #SupportChildren #310000Steps #walking #charity #childrensmentalhealth #fundraising

Mental health is a vital aspect of our overall well-being, impacting how we think, feel, and interact with others. It's essential to prioritize self-care, seek support when needed, and foster open conversations about mental health challenges. Remember that it's okay to ask for help, whether through friends, family, or professionals, and that taking small steps toward managing stress and anxiety can lead to significant improvements. Let's create an environment where mental health is openly discussed and valued, reminding ourselves that we are not alone in this journey. At Cleveland Cable Company, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting causes that matter. This month, we’re proud to support the Headlight Project, an organisation dedicated to mental health support and suicide prevention. As we observe #InternationalCharityDay today and #WorldSuicidePreventionDay approaches, we encourage everyone to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can create a brighter, safer future 💙 🔗 Learn more about how you can get involved and donate here: https://lnkd.in/ecStKvR3 #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #Charity #SocialImpact #ClevelandCable

Did you know that 45% of Australians will face a mental health condition in their lifetime? And for our veterans, that number climbs to 75%. Yet most won’t seek the support, its time to destigmatise mental health. That’s why I’m hosting a Big Blue Table this October to raise awareness and funds for Beyond Blue. Every dollar raised will support their Support Service, providing vital help for those battling anxiety, depression, and suicide. No matter where they are, what time it is, or what they’re going through, Beyond Blue provides free, confidential and immediate counselling with a trained counsellor 24 hours a day seven days a week via phone, chat or email. Now I can’t have you all at my table, but I encourage you to start the conversation with those around you—that it’s okay to not be okay. Together, we can make a difference, especially for our veterans and for everyone who may be struggling in silence. Visit the link in my profile to get involved for a tax deductible donation. Let’s fight the stigma of mental health—one meal at a time. https://lnkd.in/gBycM6a6

This is crucial and fundamental
Every young person should have access to mental health support. No waiting times. No referral. No appointment. No being turned away because they’re ‘not sick enough’. That’s why we’re calling for early mental health support hubs in every community. We need the Government to #FundTheHubs. And we need *your* voice to help make this happen. 1/ Share this video 2/ Add your name to our open letter to the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt ➡ https://bit.ly/3ufWVUI Let’s mobilise and show the Government that we will not stop until there is a national roll out of hubs. We are louder together. - The #FundTheHubs campaign coalition is made up of the following charities: BACP Black Thrive Centre for Mental Health Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition The Children's Society Mind Youth Access
It's time to #FundTheHubs
