While not everybody has a Ferrari dealership near them, many car dealers offer apprenticeships that will lead to roles across the business. How to Get into F1 Through Internships. Ever wondered how some F1 engineers get their start? Many began as interns. Internships provide invaluable hands-on experience and industry contacts crucial for a career in Formula 1. Take James Allison, for example. He started his career with a summer internship at the Benetton Formula 1 team. This opportunity allowed him to develop skills and establish connections that propelled his career forward. Even short-term internships can make a significant impact: -They provide a glimpse into the industry. -You become a more attractive candidate for full-time positions. So, what actions can you take? -Research F1 teams and their internship programs. Regularly check their websites for openings. Mercedes has an excellent internship program and tends to retain many of their interns. I know this because I worked alongside several colleagues who were former interns. -Reach out to universities affiliated with F1 teams. Oxford Brookes has a renowned Motorsport department.

National Apprenticeship Week - tackling the skills deficit in the automotive sector with female role models! 💼🎉 This is my #Myapprenticeshipstory Automotive 30% Club 1. Why did I choose an apprenticeship? Choosing an apprenticeship was an easy decision for me. I saw it as an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience, gain a qualification, and kickstart my career in a field I had no experience in. It's been a fantastic blend of practical knowledge and learning, in a great team of people.📚💼 2. Challenges I Overcame: The road to success is often paved with challenges. One of the biggest hurdles for me was the transition of sectors. Previously working in hospitality and then transferring to office work. Putting myself out of my comfort zone, I have now found a routine and I love it. 3. What I like best about my apprenticeship: The best part about my apprenticeship has been broadening your knowledge and reflecting on the route you have taken. Whether it's the work environment, continuous learning opportunities, or the chance to work on projects, every day has been a stepping stone towards personal and professional growth. 🌱🌐 4. Development and Plans for Progression: Reflecting on my journey so far, I can see significant personal and professional development.
