INVISIBLE INTENTIONS: IN THE DEPARTURE LIES THE DREAM: There is a strong poetic in ‘departures’. Departures link with ‘orginations’ in the many senses of that word. ‘Points of departure’, for instance, suggest places (physical or not) from which people, things, trains of thought spring up, and start to move. Departures are the commencement of something. They are the moments in which a past (of necessity, desire, planning) meets a potential future (of objectives, destinations, goals). Something is about to begin…. This week saw two #LiquidBecomings departures. After months of anticipation, preparation and first imagination of this major project for Agora Now in 2024, and which is our third Agora Now 'nomadic' space, on August 27, we saw the departure of the MS-Fusion, from Baja (southern Hungary). On board: a crew excited to discover and interact with the stories and histories of the Danube. A few days later, on 31 August, the boat FLOW left the banks of the Vistula in Warsaw, to engage once more in a ritual – already well established – between this vessel and the river. Only this time, the journey forms part of a larger context, and is woven into a wider ecosystem. Read on below. Dear friends, friends Visual artists and members of KONSFARM ART ATELIER NÖ /Konstantina Farmaki I have good news for you! In March we go to PALMA DE MALLORCA !!! Let's travel "A GREECE LIGHT" but with "Aroma of a Woman" this time. Let's get to know Palma de Mallorca and the CASA DE CULTURA in the Medieval City of Santanyi in the Balearic Islands where we will exhibit our works, adding to the activities of the cultural center one more. The presentation of a major International exhibition of visual arts With the participation of renowned artists with international recognition. So hurry up... THE BUILDING OF THE CASA DE CULTURA is built on an old lagoon, whose land was owned by the Santanyí town council 200 years ago, the house was acquired by the council to become a cultural center. Since its inauguration in December 2011, it has presented an attractive program revolving around activities related to art, literature and music. The town on the southeast coast of Mallorca was first mentioned in a document in 1236 under the name Sancti Aini. In 1300 Santanyi received city rights. Santanyi is a small town in the southeast of Mallorca that has retained its original Mallorcan charm to this day. The Mediterranean beaches are four kilometers from the city center. At first glance, Santanyi seems to be in one piece. The cityscape is characterised by medieval and modern buildings made of golden-yellow Mares sandstone. The sandstone is quarried exclusively in the area around Santanyi and gives the town its distinctive appearance. Atmospheric contrasts arise when green palm leaves sway gently in the wind in the town’s main square, Plaça Major, in front of the colourful house facades and the blue sky. At the end of the 19th century, around 5,500 people lived in Santanyi. The population was poor but this changed with the rise of tourism in the 1960s. Many wealthy Spaniards from the mainland built holiday homes around the small town and the first Europeans also moved to the sunny Balearic island. WHAT DO YOU SAY…WILL YOU COME EXPLORE WITH US? Applications for participation no later than 31/12/2024. to E-Mail: kunsthistorikerin10356@gmail.com

WE ARE ELENA AND MARÍA AND WE WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU THREE THINGS ABOUT US: 1. We are passionate about contemporary crafts: the balance between art and traditional techniques, between creating and preserving, between moving forward and staying rooted. 2. We love objects, but we love the people who make them even more: their inspirations, their creative drive, their journey and the horizons they look at. 3. We are mesmerised by creative processes and how things are made: the relationship between the raw material and the person who transforms it. That dialogue—sometimes calm, sometimes wild—is the essence of craftsmanship. That is why we have created VOA: to promote contemporary crafts and its new creators, to discover singular pieces and learn about the processes that make them possible and to create a virtual and human community where artisans and artists can get together and talk about what moves them. VOA means "to fly" in Galician, the language of the region of Galicia (north west Spain), where we come from, and it is an invitation for creators—and for ourselves—to spread our wings, take a leap, believe that it is possible. For that reason, as well as to honour those who inspire us to fly, each of our collections is named after a bird. The first one, Lavandeira (Wagtail, Motacilla alba).

This #WorldOceansDay, in support of ART 2030 and the United Nations, we share moments from the first PCAI Tilos Artist Residency programme with designers-in-residence The New Raw @the_new_raw , in Tilos, that call to action for our ocean. The film PCAI Tilos Artist Residency: The New Raw, directed by Ilias Madouros, unfolds PCAI’s artist-in-residence programme on the island of Tilos, the first zero-waste island. How can circular economy principles inspire creativity, collaboration and regenerative thinking in architecture, design crafts, materials and urban design? The docufilm aims to explore this question following The New Raw’s multifaceted art practices in Tilos during their three-month residency on the island. The ocean is our biggest ally in the fight against climate change. Without an ocean full of life, it cannot continue to sequester and store carbon. We have a degraded ocean on our hands, but the ocean has a phenomenal capacity to restore itself. *PCAI Tilos Artist Residency programme was launched in 2022, as part of the Just Go Zero Tilos project powered by Polygreen eco, implemented in collaboration with the Municipality of Tilos. Share the post and inspire others to take action for a healthy planet. https://lnkd.in/d8eHg8kG #ArtforaHealthyPlanet #ArtforGlobalGoals #tilosresidency #thenewraw #pcai

www.nineoclock.ro: “Connecting Worlds”, the new fine art exhibition proposed by WIN Gallery, is a tribute to the multitude of encounters between worlds and cultures, by Mioara Iofciulescu “Connecting Worlds” is centered around the process of acquiring knowledge, making discoveries and accommodating to novelty. It is a constant in our lives, equally beautiful and disquieting. We chose this subject because we are traversing a period when science is making extraordinary leaps, at once promising and challenging. Discovering inner and outer worlds entails an inquisitive spirit, the courage to delve into the unknown and the willingness to accept change as inevitable. To become aware of oneself and one’s surroundings, fascination and doubt must walk hand in hand, shaping the journey. Along this process, connections between people, cultures and mindsets flourish, enabling new ways of seeing and thinking. Introspection, rites of passage, symbols and travels are just a few among the many vehicles for exploration”, Irina Stoenescu, Chairlady of WIN Gallery, stated.
