The rise of technology, once a beacon of hope for boundless creativity and innovation, has begun to cast a shadow over the arts. In the photography industry, as well as other creative fields, it seems we’ve traded vision for efficiency, and imagination for algorithms. The once painstaking craft of capturing emotion, mood, and meaning through a lens is now often reduced to filter presets, AI-generated compositions, and a constant, numbing chase for digital perfection. Photography, which once celebrated individuality, now serves an endless cycle of mediocrity, bound by likes, shares, and trends. The creative process has been commodified. Where photographers once chased light, nuance, and soul, many are now forced to chase the fleeting attention of a distracted audience. The relentless pressure to produce at a breakneck pace has dulled the artistry behind the camera. The same templates, the same automated enhancements—creativity feels more like assembly line work than an act of expression. Authenticity has been sidelined, sacrificed at the altar of convenience. In the broader arts, the infection runs even deeper. The promise of limitless tools has paradoxically stifled the boldness that once defined artistic vision. Why think outside the box when the box offers you all the answers? There is little room left for raw experimentation when every decision can be optimized by an algorithm designed to predict the next hit or viral sensation. The result is an endless echo chamber where originality is starved, and risk is an afterthought. Photographers, once hailed as visionaries, are now reduced to technicians in a world that prizes consistency over genius. In a culture where everyone with a smartphone is a “creator,” the very definition of art is blurred and diluted. The art of seeing, of truly capturing a moment, has become drowned in a sea of identical images, each vying for relevance in a landscape of banality. This technological grip threatens the lifeblood of creativity. It molds not only how art is made but how it is consumed, perceived, and valued. If the trend continues, we may find ourselves living in a world where beauty no longer startles, where imagination no longer challenges, and where the arts—once the last bastion of human expression—are rendered as predictable and mechanical as the devices that now dominate our lives.

Despite what many may think, conjuring graphics and videos seeming out of thin air is not magic, but it’s also not as simple as just pushing a few buttons on a keyboard…although AI is making it more so. Designers, photographers, and videographers are not miracle workers, but they do possess certain skills and use specific terminology to convey precise meaning. That’s why we compiled some commonly used words and phrases you may encounter on your next creative project. https://lnkd.in/exzgHkzG

As an amateur photographer, I’m very interested in the impact - historical, cultural, emotional, etc. - that pictures can have, not just on an individual level, but also at societal levels. After all, iconic photos such as Tiananmen Square have defined revolutions, encapsulating truth in a way that is impossible to fully express otherwise. So far, our trust in photography has been so deep that many view these iconic pictures as shortcuts to knowledge. But, how will this change when technology, particularly AI, impacts photography? Will this mean that - as this article suggests - our basic assumptions about photos capturing reality are about to go up in smoke? https://lnkd.in/ew7Yb3_d

Generating High definition #AI photos can be hectic, Specially when you want to show details of skin, hair and texture. Every time you try a new #promptstrategy the machine gets even dumber. Let's face it, AI machines need to be told what to do precisely with super radicicols details to at least generate something close to what you want. Include these tips that I religiously follow in your prompts to generate high definition pictures: 1. Mention the type of camera you are using to take the shot. I usually upgrade my camera to megapixel counts as high as 400MP 2. Side Lighting is really effective when shooting close up portraits, adding a reflector for a catch light produces greater results than a single light 3. The best way to show texture is to have a light skim across the textured surface from the side. 4. Know your right aperture, ISO and shutter speed .. It will make all the difference 5. Know your lens (use lenses for macro photography) .. know your focus points in the picture blur all other in post editing. Hope these tips will help you generate better textures. Keep generating 🤙🏼
