Amazing read and concrete, tangible calls to action to better support and amplify the incredible efforts of female Community Health Workers! Congrats Last Mile Health and Integrate Health and for sharing Co-Impact. Here are some of my favorite recommendations: ✅ Women community health workers’ voices are systematically incorporated into the decision-making process for planning and implementing health services. ✅ Community health worker training curriculum includes modules on gender sensitivity and safety to prevent and respond to gender-based violence ✅ Support structures and networks are established for the professional development of women community health workers. ✅ National policies are implemented to ensure women community health workers maintain a fair workload and are not burdened with additional responsibilities beyond their roles. #CHWS #WomenDeliverHealth #GenderEquity #SupportWomenleaders

Menstrual health is a fundamental human right The World Health Organization (WHO) has regional websites for Africa, Americas, South-East Asia, Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, and Western Pacific. There are numerous countries within each region. Menstrual health is recognized as a fundamental human right, and a resolution was adopted by the United Nations Human Rights Council to promote menstrual hygiene management (MHM). The resolution calls for universal access to affordable and safe menstrual hygiene products, improvement of water and sanitation facilities, elimination of taxes on menstrual products, and integration of MHM into national policies. WHO/Europe has been organizing workshops to strengthen skills and capacities in WASH provisions in schools under the Protocol on Water and Health. These efforts aim to create inclusive learning environments that uphold human rights and promote gender equality. https://lnkd.in/e7mRNhEZ #PublicHealth #Europe #StayInformed #StayEmpowered

🌍 Today, on #WorldPopulationDay, we celebrate the power of inclusive data to build a resilient and equitable future for all. Thirty years ago, at the International Conference on Population Development, we committed to putting people at the centre of development. Thanks to improvements in data collection and analysis, we've made significant strides in reproductive care, maternal health, and gender equality. However, the journey is far from over. Our latest research highlights growing inequalities in healthcare access, especially among the world's most marginalized communities. As half the world heads to the polls in 2024, it is crucial that we use reliable, inclusive data to inform policies and create more resilient societies. Data is more than numbers; it is the key to understanding and addressing the diverse experiences of humanity. By counting everyone, we can ensure that no one is left behind and truly fulfil the ICPD’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous future. Let’s continue to champion inclusive data collection and use it to promote progress for all. Together, we are #8BillionStrong. Existing inequalities in health service access are worsened by social exclusion. Overcoming these hurdles calls for innovative, inclusive approaches that consider gender equity and social inclusion (GESI). By acknowledging the complexity of human experiences and the ever-changing nature of these environments, we can craft strategies that effectively reach the most vulnerable populations and sustain progress toward NTD elimination. 1wReducing the barriers for more women involvement in CHW is very important as women are more trusted by community members. I just read a very good strategy being implemented by Vitamin Angels on using women motorcycle taxi drivers that I think is worth exploring for other countries with CHW programs. Great collaboration for bigger impact and sustainability
