Thrilled to speak about Sexual Violence Prevention on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025. This workshop is open to the public to anyone interested in learning more about gender and sexual violence, effective ways to support those impacted by violence and preventing further incidents from occurring. To learn more about the workshop and to register please go to: https://lnkd.in/eQuKgGg5 Advocating against gender and sexual violence prevention is something I am passionate about. The prevalence of gender and sexual violence at both schools and universities is concerning. Violence against women, children and individuals from LGBTQIA community permeates all societies and crosses race, religion and cultural boundaries. The rise in sexual violence is an epidemy that necessitates immediate action. Sexual violence has been predominantly seen as a “woman’s issue”. This view enables an attitude that “boys will be boys” to permeate and further adds to misconceptions about sexual violence The effects of sexual violence are extensive and long last lasting. It impacts the whole community. An individual’s psychological/socio-emotional and their cognitive performance do not exist in isolation and cannot be treated as such. On average 1 in 4 women, 1 in 6 men, 50% transgender people, 44% lesbians, 26% gay men and 1 in 5 bisexual people would have experienced sexual harassment, at least 1 sexual attack, rape, or physical violence in their life time. Education about consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships equips individuals with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and others. Empowerment through awareness is the first step in prevention. Every survivor has a story that deserves to be heard and validated. By prioritizing sexual violence prevention, we create a supportive environment that encourages survivors to come forward and seek help without fear of judgment. #SexualViolencePrevention #sexualviolence #genderviolence #education #empowerment #healthyrelationships #consent #Advocacy Association Genevoise des Ecoles Privées (AGEP)

The Jewish Federations of North America and the Ministry of Health Israel are partnering to launch a new program: Mental Health in the Community. This $14 million initiative will establish 16 community-based mental health centers which will provide accessible, non-stigmatizing mental health services across Israel. The program represents a systemic response to the current mental health emergency in Israel exacerbated by the events of #October7, offering hope and support to those affected by recent traumatic events. The aim of the program is to serve 200,000 people annually and to address the influx of new cases of #PTSD. ICAR Collective’s Executive Director Gila Tolub highlights the importance of strategic planning for these centers, emphasizing the need for clear differentiation and focus areas to avoid duplication of efforts and resource competition and confusion. This initiative paves the way for healing and resilience, offering a beacon of hope during these challenging times.
