As our MHLP students approach the final stages of their master’s journey, we're equipping them with valuable insights and opportunities to prepare for impactful careers in health leadership.   Yesterday’s Employer Meet & Greet was a success! Our students connected directly with industry leaders from Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health, and Provincial Health Services Authority, gaining exclusive insights into career paths and expanding their professional networks with like-minded health professionals.   The MHLP program is dedicated to more than just teaching technical and business skills; we provide real-world opportunities for our students to practice networking, build confidence, and directly engage with future employers. Our commitment goes beyond the classroom to empower our students to step confidently into leadership roles that make a difference.   We know how important it is for our students to find roles that align with their experiences and ambitions. We’re proud to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Medical Association, the Tim Smith Health Leadership Scholarship. Named in honour of Tim Smith, CMA CEO from 2015 to 2024, this scholarship is designed to support early-career physicians and residents dedicated to health and social care leadership. This annual scholarship promotes leadership in advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, reconciliation, and anti-racism in health care. Through the National Health Fellows Program, scholarship recipients will engage with senior health leaders from coast to coast to coast to tackle key issues impacting Canadian health care systems. I am very excited to announce our new partnership between the Health Leadership Academy - McMaster University and the Canadian Medical Association to provide the opportunity for early-career physicians and residents to participate in the National Health Fellows Program.

Day one of our November principals’ conference has come to an end. It has been brilliant to be able to reflect on our progress together but also look to the future and think about how we can build on the momentum we have towards Lift 490- our commitment to hit four key metrics by 2028. With a focus on innovation led by insights, this is set to be an energising few days. • We begin with a keynote speech from Rebecca Boomer-Clark, taking us through our ten trust goals for 2028 and our four key organisational health KPIs . Becks emphasises how we are entering our second two year improvement cycle, with a focus on insight-driven improvement and innovation. • The next presentation is our top trust goals with Eleonore Lewis, Director of Strategy, and Phil Humphreys, Director of Education, who take us through the ten goals that set the ambition for our mission and measure the success of our network strategy. The discussion turns to look at how our schools and school leaders can harness the power of our network to support each other to deliver on these targets. • We then have a session on leadership excellence from Alison Eynon, Head of Leadership Development at Lift Schools, discussing how we can develop deep collaboration within and between our schools with the Project H mindsets. We close that session by hearing from leaders from the Midlands and East, before committing to ‘one thing’ we can do to promote a culture of deep collaboration while at this conference. • Hannah Jackson, Community Partnerships Lead, and Unity Jones (Howard), Director of Network Advancement, present on the Lift maxims and the role of academy councils in our governance. With our academy councils acting as guardians of our ethos, Unity and Hannah explain how we can deliver on our entitlement to excellence for our school communities. • Phil Humphreys, Director of Education, and Maria Rodrigues lead a session on our network’s SEND strategy, how we can combat national challenges and continue to develop our in-school enhanced provision in our primary, secondary and special schools. • We end with a session on what excellence looks like from Emily Crowther, Senior SENCO at Kingswood Academy. With brilliant details from her school, based in Hull, Emily shares how they’ve worked to create a sense of belonging We look forward for what day two brings 🙌 #EducationChangesLives #TalentDrivesPerformance

Our team had a great time participating in the California Charter Schools Association conference last month! Highlighting the transformative power of strategic planning, we delved into Elevate Charter Schools' journey with Executive Director and Founding Principal Ryan Elliott and Third Plateau Senior Associate Katy Lardaro. Session participants gained valuable insights from a compelling strategic planning case study, with practical and applicable takeaways, including... 🔍 Why did Elevate School embark on strategic planning when it did? Persistent strategic questions lingered for years, lacking concrete answers. Caught in day-to-day urgencies, Elevate's leadership craved space to envision the school's future. 🛑 What challenges did Elevate encounter along the way? Balancing great ideas with practical feasibility was key. Adjusting timelines and priorities, and deferring certain initiatives to ensure sustainable progress. 🎯 What did Elevate gain from the process? An external perspective proved invaluable, pinpointing strengths and growth opportunities and bringing a new level of clarity. Strategic visioning enabled Ryan and the team to recognize and leverage all of their unique assets that otherwise may have been taken for granted -- and equipped them with a practical roadmap to guide their future. Our team loved connecting with so many charter school leaders during the conference and witnessing the community's enthusiasm for approaching education through a strategic lens.
